TAEP PTO wants to show some love to our Pre-K- 5th grade students. We are having a Valentine's Dance tomorrow, February 11th from 6-8 in the school cafeteria. Admission is free and each student will receive a coupon at the door good for one piece of pizza, a bottle of water and a sweet treat. Additional drinks will be available for purchase. We will also have drawings for Prince and Princess for each grade level. We hope to see you there!
In order to honor and better serve the needs of families with a guardian or other family member in the military, we have created this form to allow guardians to report the status of military family members. Tomorrow’s Girls’ Basketball game of TAEP and South will occur at 12:15. There will only be a girls’ game. With there only being one game, there will be no concessions available, and students will get in Free, with parents cost being $5. Again, the game is now at 12:15 at East.
Due to impending winter weather, all staff will not report in person tomorrow, Friday, February 4th. Staff development training will take place remotely for all professional & service personnel staff including board-hired, long-term & leave of absence subs. Service personnel will be completing online training assigned by classification that will not be available until Friday. Preston County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay for tomorrow, Thursday, January 27th. Maintenance, mechanics, and custodians report on a regular schedule, and all other students and staff will report on a 2 hour delay.
We will be scheduling for high school classes next month on February 11th with 8th grade students. The high school counselors will be coming to Terra Alta East Preston School that morning and will help each individual student sign up for their classes for freshmen year. Each student will bring home his/her selected courses that day and will need their parent to review their schedule and have both their signature and their parent signature on the form. Please turn the signed form back into the school by Friday, February 18th.
This Friday, the 28th, our 8th graders will be taking the NAEP Test in either Math or ELA. A letter explaining is attached and can be found on our school website live feed. Due to snow days, and this coming out later, if you wish for your child to be excused from taking this test, please inform by the end of the day on the 27th. This test does not affect grades, nor any type of placement. It's to gauge where our 8th grades are comparatively to other schools and was chosen completely at random.
