The Grandfamilies Program in Preston County provide educational workshops
that provide support to grandparent caregivers. They will cover the day-to-day
challenges that happen while raising a grandchild.
The program is free to attend and will be held in the evening for two hours. See picture for dates, locations and times

Preston County Schools is accepting applications for substitute cooks, custodians, and aides through the end of the week. Interested applicants need to visit the job posting site at https://prestonboe.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx
In addition, the required classes and testing for each of these jobs are scheduled for this week with the class for custodians beginning at 8 AM and for cooks at 10 AM at the BOE Boardroom on Thursday, April 7th. The class for aides is scheduled to begin at 8 AM at the BOE on Friday, April 8th.

Attention all 8th grade parents: The 8th grade students have been working on their career portfolios in Schoology. Please help them finish up these portfolios by uploading files and pictures that they still need. They will present their portfolio during an interview with the administration at the school. The career portfolios need completed by May 18th and the interviews will be on Friday, May 20th. The students will need to dress business casual for the interview. This interview consists of them presenting their career portfolio and being asked questions about their goals in life. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Durst at the school. Thank you!

Preston County Schools names, Bradley Martin, as the next superintendent at the March 28, 2022 Board Meeting

The 8th grade students were given permission slips that need signed to be able to go on the Preston High tour on Friday, April 29th. These forms need returned to the school by April 22nd. Again, your child should have this permission slip and it needs signed and returned by the 22nd of April so they can attend their high school tour on the 29th. Thanks.

In Preston County Schools and at Terra Alta East Preston, there is a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to Vaping, possession of, or use of any substances containing nicotine or tobacco. It shouldn't, but also needs to be stated that ALL students at Terra Alta East Preston are under the legal age to use and/or possess any of these products. If it is found that your child is in possession of any of these products and you the parent, or legal guardian has knowingly supplied this to them, reports will both be made to local law enforcement, as well as to CPS. This is the LAW and will be followed as such. This message is to serve as both a final warning and a deterrent to those parents who are continuing to neglect the LAW and choose to damage both their child's education, as well as their physical well-being. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss this further, feel free to come to the school and speak with Mr. Hough. Again, this is the LAW.

Tomorrow, Saturday the 12th is the last day to sign up for youth league baseball and softball. Registration is $20 per child and will be held at the cafeteria at the school from 8:30 to 1:00. If weather is bad and there's a need to cancel, we will send out a follow-up message.
