We have been in contact with a number of local clinics who have seen an uptick in strep, flu and a stomach virus. This is just a friendly reminder that as we work to keep our students and staff healthy this winter, please be reminded that if your child stays home or is picked up sick from school, he or she should not return until they are symptom free for 24 hours without medication. This includes fever (100.4+), cough, vomiting, and diarrhea. Remember you have 10 parent notes to use for the year in case of an absence. Be sure to turn either this or a doctor's slip in so we can mark your child excused.

Tomorrow's spirit day is sports; Wednesday is kindness; Thursday is career; and Friday is Marvel day. During this school counseling recognition week East Preston wants to thank Mrs. Durst and Mrs. Helmick for all they do for our school. They are both tremendous assets and we appreciate them!

Report cards will come home Monday. Make sure you review those with your student. We will host spring parent teacher conferences later this month with more information coming soon.

April 22nd, originally part of Spring Break, is now an instructional day as we have to make up a snow day. Students and staff will be in schools that day. Also, due to missing so many days, February 7th is no longer a 2 hour early dismissal. It will be a full day. Any additional days will be made up after May 30th.
Due to wind creating road condition issues Bible Club is canceled after school today, Tuesday, January 28th. Students will be sent home on their regular bus run.
Due to road work, tree-cutting, and other issues beyond our control, the following bus routes will be using alternate stop locations this afternoon. These are for Bruceton Area, Terra Alta, and PHS students.
Bruceton - Bus 29-23, Brett Slage and 22-21 Gerri Shaffer will be using alternate stop locations. In Terra Alta, Bus 121, Bruce Ragione will meet parents in the Cranesville, Afton areas at the White Oak Church.
Preston County Schools is currently doing an overhaul of its phone system. With the new system has come changes in employee extensions. Listed below are the new county office extensions. Schools will begin updating as their new systems are installed. If you reach an error on an old extension at a school, just place a "3" in front of the old number.

There is also an additional game this week against Central Preston being played at Preston High School on Saturday. Boys will play at 12 pm and girls at 1:15 pm.

A couple of reminders for this week - we may have phone interruptions on Thursday during our new phone installation and Friday we will send home report cards with students. Also, if you haven't yet done so, please send in the band boosters Marianna fundraiser. It is now past due. Pick up will be February 12th.
