The Preston County Youth Center will be hosting an Open House to promote their anticipated after-school programming on Tuesday, Feb 22nd at 6pm. Attendees can register their children for the after school program and ask needed questions during the event.

Preston County Schools will be closed for today, Monday, February 14th, & it’s a “Brain Freeze” day. Students do not report; however, all staff who have not yet reported will report on a 2-hour delay. Students & parents should check their Schoology or Seesaw accounts for assignments. Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for today, Monday, February 14th. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, and all other students and staff will report on a 2-hour delay.
With today being a Brain Freeze Day and being a curricular day, extra-curricular activities may proceed based on improving road conditions. Setup for the County Social Studies Fair will proceed as scheduled from 5-7 PM at the Craig Civic Center. The scheduled Preston High boys' & girls' basketball games will proceed as scheduled as well. In addition, all other high school or middle school athletic teams may practice this evening with practice schedules and times being communicated by individual coaches. However, shuttle buses will not run today. Finally, no ASE activities will occur at district schools this evening.

Next week, students will receive information about scheduling their classes for next year. On Thursday, February 17, we have parent/teacher conferences scheduled from 5 – 7 pm. Our counselors will also have a scheduling information session for parents from 5:00 – 5:30 with a time for questions following that. Scheduling will happen the week of February 28. Stop in any time between 5 and 7 to meet with teachers or counselors. You can also set up an appointment with your child’s teacher for that time by contacting them via email.
The Preston County Youth Center (PCYC) is seeking input in the interest level of parents at West Preston School and Preston High School who would be interested in their children participating in after school programming at the PCYC. Programming will be offered Monday - Friday after-school until 6 PM and will include tutoring services, physical activities, and a healthy snack.

Staff development training will take place remotely for all professional & service personnel staff including board-hired, long-term & leave of absence subs. Service personnel will be completing online training assigned by classification that will not be available until Friday.
