We couldn't be more proud of the PHS Steel Drum Band, the Steel Knights. This is their first year learning the steel drums, and they were just informed they won the silver award in their division from the Strawberry Festival.
There will be a special meeting of the Preston County Board of Education on Thursday, June 4, 2026 for scheduled student disciplinary hearings. Just a reminder to all families and students, School is Officially Out for Summer. Tomorrow, June 2nd, is the last day for 200 day employees until their return on August 18th. Reminder: The sun is shining, the grass is mowed and drying, and Knights Stadium is ready to welcome our graduates and their families and friends this evening. Tonight's Preston High School Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2026 will take place outdoors at Knights Stadium beginning at 7:30 PM. Graduating senior students need to assemble in the Gym by 6:30 PM. Handicap parking is available behind the school between the school and the stadium by permit only. Tonight's ceremony will be broadcast by Mountain Digital at youtube.com/cable7, Live on Prodigi CH10, and Breezline on Channel 7 on their regular package, or channel 9001 on Breezeline Stream TV. Hello, PHS families. If your student needs to recover credits, they can do so through online summer school. This option is not required, as courses can be retaken during the school year, but it is strongly recommended for students needing credits to graduate on time. Details about cost and how to register are posted on Schoology.
Preston High School's Steel Knights were stealing the show this weekend at the Strawberry Festival!
Coach Tennant's Civics classes, Tina Cool's Forensic Science classes, and virtual class students visited the Preston County Courthouse on Thursday, April 30th, to participate in a mock trial. Thank you so much, Judge Shaffer, for organizing this event with lots of great actors, including actual lawyers, police officers and other court workers. The jury was chosen from our students, who actually deliberated on two charges against the defendant. This is a great opportunity to learn about the court system and how the evidence presented helps the jury make a decision. *A special thank you to Steve Plum for making arrangements to transport our students to and from the courthouse.
