Kingwood Elementary raised $427.00 this past week to benefit Betty Puskar Breast Care Center in Morgantown during our second annual PINK OUT where staff and students paid $1.00 to wear pink! Thanks to all who participated and helped us surpass the amount raised during last year's event!

KES enjoyed a night of fun with students and their families this past week with a Halloween parade and storyteller! Our PTA also provided pizza and cookies with coloring, bowling, and stamp activities as well as a visit from the Preston County Animal Shelter and WVU Mountaineer beforehand. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your memory making! Have a wonderful weekend!

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, October 23rd, students will be bringing home their report cards/progress reports for the 1st Grading Period that ended on the 17th.

Since 2011, Unity Day has been recognized in the US as a day to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. PCS is dedicated to the prevention of students being bullied, and creating a safe and welcoming learning environment.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To give back to our community through an organization that impacts so many local people, KES is raising money to donate to the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center in Morgantown—And we plan to have fun while we do it! KES will have a PINK OUT this Thursday, October 23rd! Staff and students will pay $1.00 to wear pink. Again, all proceeds will go to the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center. Let’s try to surpass our total from last year, $420.00!

KES: This is just a reminder to wear ORANGE tomorrow, October 22, for Unity Day! Help us take a stand against bullying!

October 20-24, 2025 is National School Bus Safety Week. Keep bus stop safety at the top of your list this school year. School buses carry our most precious cargo—our children. Every stop is a chance to protect their journey. We thank our community members for following the law, our local law enforcement for monitoring and enforcing the laws, and our PCS Bus Drivers for ensuring our students' safety to and from our schools and events.

Kingwood Elementary School celebrated our students with perfect attendance for the months of August and September with a prize drawing! There were 133 students in PreK through 4th grade who earned this status and were in the running for a prize! Grade level winners are pictured here along with the names of all students achieving perfect attendance in the first two months of school. Being on time and staying all day, every day makes us academically and socially successful!

KES Families: Our PTA sponsored Fall Family Fun Night is just 4 days away! Join us Thursday evening for shopping at the Scholastic Book Fair, pizza & drinks, Halloween parade, and storyteller! The fun begins at 5PM--Come make some memories with us!

Early Dismissal Reminder - Tomorrow, Friday October 17th is a 2 hour early dismissal for students.

The WVACEEC is a group of individuals from across the state that gather throughout the school year to listen to the concerns of parents, families, and community members regarding the education of exceptional students, and share those concerns with the WV Department of Education (WVDE), the WV State Board of Education (WVSBOE).
