It appears we're currently having and will continue to have the Preston County Winter we've all become accustomed to, but haven't seen in the past few years. The state allocates us, based off additional learning time in our buildings each day, 5 traditional snow days, where students and staff under 240 day contracts do not report, and allows 5 non-traditional learning days (Brain Freeze) where students work from home and staff reports. If we exhaust all these days, make-up days, either via from Spring Break, or at the end of the school year, will need to be used to meet the state requirements. If we go over those allocated days, the calendar will be adjusted and you will be informed of the dates of those make-up days.

We are so proud of our Kingwood Elementary 4th graders for their outstanding participation in the 50th Annual Preston County Schools Math Field Day! Our students were well represented and brought home several top placers, showing just how powerful effort, focus, and perseverance can be.
Every student who participated should be proud—your hard work and determination truly paid off. Way to represent KES and show what our Stags can do!
