This week is state testing for grades 3-8. Students will take the writing test on Monday, Math on Tuesday, English on Wednesday, and grades 5 and 8 will take Science on Thursday. Here are some important reminders:
- Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep the night before
- Make sure they eat breakfast whether it's at home or at school
- Testing starts each day at 8:00
- Make sure your child is on time for school. According to state rules, once the testing for the day has started, kids who arrive late are not allowed to join in that day's session and must take a makeup test
- Make sure your child's laptop is fully charged each day
- Make sure your child brings a book to read for when they finish testing
We understand that state testing can be a stressful time for kids and parents. We want our kids to approach the test with a positive attitude and try their absolute best to show what they've learned.
However, state testing is one snapshot in time of a child's progress and sometimes it may not show all the important and necessary skills for life that your child is also mastering.

If a student still has a GSA test to makeup on the date of a field trip, they will unfortunately have to stay at school to complete the test.
