Reminder - Pre-K, K, 7th grade, 12th Grade students are REQUIRED to have the listed vaccinations before they can start school. Without proper documentation, then a student cannot attend until the shots are completed and records are at the school. There is no grace period. We don't want to see your student unnecessarily miss school days. Please contact one of our nurses for assistance, return their voicemails, or contact the health department with any questions. As of today, there are 92 seniors with records still missing of having the appropriate vaccines. It is against state law for them to be in the building without records of the required immunizations. This even pertains to virtual students.
Reminder of vaccine requirements for PCS Students (PK, new enrollments and 7th and 12th grades) - Immunizations are a requirement by state code for student enrollment in WV Public Schools.
Last June (2025), the West Virginia Board of Education (WVBE), members voted unanimously to comply with state law regarding required school immunizations as it is written in W. Va. Code §16-3-4.
To date, the West Virginia Legislature has not voted in favor of religious exemptions for vaccines and continue to comply with the law that dates back to 1937.

"Hi! My name is Robin Marcus! This is my twenty-sixth year of teaching and my first year teaching in Preston County! I am so happy to be joining the Bruceton Elementary educator team as a fifth grade teacher. I have taught 5th grade in the past and am really excited to meet all of my new students! I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary K – 8 from Fairmont State University, and my Master’s Degree from WVU in Special Education – Gifted. I also hold a certification for Special Education, Learning Disorders. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, crafting, stained glass working and hanging out with my husband, two kids, and our furry friends. This year, my travels allowed me to stand on the beaches of both our east and west coast! I am looking forward to an awesome new year!"

"Hello! My name is Kaden McElhenny, and I'm excited to be joining Bruceton School as the new middle school physical education teacher. I graduated from Frostburg State University and previously taught at Terra Alta, Aurora, and Rowlesburg before becoming a part of the Bruceton team. In addition to teaching, I coach football at Mountain Ridge High School, where I graduated. Outside of school and coaching, you'll usually find me spending time with my family or on the golf course. My wife, Mikayla, and I moved from western Maryland to West Virginia about five years ago. We have one son, Kai, along with two cats, new puppy, and a lizard who keep life fun and busy. I'm looking forward to meeting all of the students, staff, and families and can't wait to get the school year started."
