Hoops to Heroes is a WVARNG initiative to promote healthy lifestyles through sport education and relationship building. Community involvement is a core value that strengthens the capabilities of the WVARNG. The development of this program demonstrates our commitment to service to the community. We will provide an educational, challenging, and rewarding basketball program that will also educate the youth of our community on opportunities to continue to serve their great community after their sports careers are complete. We hope to have your involvement as we host this program and continue to support this great state and country through our commitment to others. Our goal is to host between 3 sessions throughout the summer at the Camp Dawson Multi-Purpose Building. The first session will begin on 7 June 2025 (time will be announced 2 weeks prior to the date of the camp. Tentative Dates are 7 June 2025, 19 July 2025, and 2 August 2025. (subject to change) The program is for any student of Preston County between the age of 13-18 years of age. Participation is completely free and requires only a commitment to attend and a good altitude. See the QR code below and scan to submit for more information.

The Preston High School Band will be having an Orientation Meeting for the upcoming school year on Thursday, June 5th at 6:00pm in the PHS Theater. Parents and students will be given a copy of the tentative schedule for the school year, the Band Handbook, WVSSAC Physical Forms, new music, and will have the opportunity to enroll in the Remind App, which is used to communicate with parents and students about upcoming events. We are hoping to have even more students this year to debut our new band and color guard uniforms this coming Fall!
