Thank you to all our students and staff for their support and contributions to the Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Center today! We asked that any student who wanted to wear a hat contribute $1.00 and we were able to raise $151.75! Thank you to everyone for your help and support in the fight against breast cancer!
Mrs. Nieman’s kindergarten class participated in pumpkin exploration today! 🎃 They measured pumpkins, counted seeds, and even experimented to see whether their pumpkin would sink or float. Thank you to our parent volunteers for all of their help!

Mrs. Miller’s first-grade class earned a special treat for raising the most money among the first-grade classes in our Paw Print Fundraiser! To celebrate their hard work, they enjoyed a fun walk to Mama B’s for some delicious ice cream!

Bruceton competed in the Preston County Middle Schools XC Championships on 10/19 in Kingwood.
Bruceton swept the individual county championships. Eli Parker captured 1st place in the boys’ race, while Elaina Armstrong raced to the win in the girls’ competition.
The boys’ team won the team championship. The girls’ team earned the runner-up finish, narrowly missing out on the team championship by a single point to Aurora. The teams both had impressive performances, with 5 boys and 4 girls earning top 10 finishes.

This Thursday, Bruceton School will be showing our support to help Breast Cancer Research. Students who wear a hat are being asked to donate $1.00 which will all go toward the Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Center. Also, everyone is encouraged to wear pink on Thursday as well.

To end a fun unit about bats, Miss Curran’s second grade class did an echolocation lab! Students used cardboard tubes and an aluminum baking pan to recreate the effect of echolocation. Students came up with a hypothesis of what they thought would happen, constructed the set up, and tested out their creation! Students were to whisper a compliment into the tube, and the sound of their voice traveled through and bounced off the baking pan to mimic an echo. They thought it was super cool to be “batty” for a little while! 🦇
