Preston County Schools had 37 projects entered in the West Virginia Regional Social Studies Fair on March 7, 2024, and received: 18 first place, 9 second place, and 4 third place.

The West Virginia State Social Studies Fair will be held at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center on April 10, 2024, all First-Place students will advance to states.

The school breakfast program is a great way to start a successful day.


Hello families! The 2nd run of bus 66-15 is stuck at the school and is waiting for a sub bus to transport the students. We hope to have the students on their way shortly!

It's time to celebrate National School Breakfast Week, March 4-8! All students in Preston County Schools (PCS) have an opportunity to start their morning off with a free breakfast at school. This week reminds us of the importance of a healthy balanced breakfast, which includes a variety of breakfast items, fruit, juice, and milk.



The Snowball Fight continues with the Preston County Schools Reading Challenge. These standings are current as of March 1, 2024.

West Preston parents and students: Middle school baseball tryouts will be today 2/26/24 and tomorrow 2/27/24, from 4:30 PM to Dark at Valley District Baseball, Inc. Baseball Fields. Students must be present both days to make the team. Baseball pants, cleats and glove will be required. Students will need a completed physical to turn in if they haven't played any other sports this school year. There will be a mandatory parent meeting Tuesday at West Preston following tryouts for any student selected to the team. Parents, please bring sold tickets and money to tryouts.

Middle School Track:
Middle school students interested in participating in track need to bring back the Track Information Form signed by their guardian and turn it into Mr. Tortolon. They must also have a physical for the current year. Forms and physicals must be turned into Mr. Tortolon before students are allowed to practice. The first practice is Monday, February 26th from 2:30-4:00pm.

Tomorrow, Friday, February 23rd, Bus 4, Cassandra Dobbins, will not run for West Preston School and Preston High School.

There have been some changes related to Saturday's Middle School Basketball Championship related to potential winter weather. The Boys' Varsity game between West Preston and Central Preston is still scheduled for 10 AM at the Preston High School Gym. Spectators may enter at 9 AM. The preliminaries for the boys' and girls' skills competitions will immediately follow the boys' championship game and will begin at approximately 11:30 AM. These preliminaries will determine the finalists for these competitions with the boys' finalists competing at halftime of the girls' championship game and the girls' finalists competing at halftime of the boys' JV game. The Girls' Varsity game between Terra Alta / East Preston and Central Preston will begin at approximately 1 PM. Finally, the Boys' JV Championship between Central Preston and West Preston will take place immediately following the girls' championship game at approximately 2:30 PM. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday! The games will also be broadcast on Mountain Digital and on the Preston High YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@phsn7016.
