Good evening, Eagles. A few important announcements: 1. Tomorrow is our school-wide evacuation drill at approximately 1:30 pm. This drill will change our dismissal and parent pick up procedures for tomorrow only. Detailed information will be posted on our website under Live Feed for parents to refer back to. School dismissal will occur at the usual time, but parent pick up will be located at the Terra Alta Youth Center located at 102 4th Street. All students who are parent pick up will be escorted (walked) to the Youth Center where they will be picked up by parents. All students who ride a bus will ride their bus home as usual. Please be aware route 7 may be congested during our drill as the police direct traffic to keep our students safe. This may also impact parent pick up. Your student's safety is our top priority, so your patience is appreciated tomorrow as we work through the logistics of the drill. Please remember to alert the office tomorrow by 1 pm of any changes to parent pick up. If you must pick up your student early you must do so by 1 pm tomorrow or you will have to wait and pick up the student at the Terra Alta Youth Center. Tomorrow's high temperatures is only expected to be in the mid-40s. Please make sure your students wear coats to school as the evacuation drill will require some time spent walking outside. We also recommend proper walking footwear. 2. Please join us tomorrow in celebrating diabetes awareness. We're asking students and staff to wear royal blue and/or orange as we honor our diabetic student, Booker Price. 3. Another reminder too that tomorrow's lunch will be a pepperoni or buffalo chicken pocket sandwich. 4. And finally, tomorrow, Wednesday, is our last day of school before Easter Break. Students return to school on Tuesday, April 22nd. Have a wonderful spring break and a Happy Easter!

May Menus: You will notice multiple cook's choice days, which will also be each day in June, so no menus will go out for June as all are cook's choice. Cook's choice are used to either be efficient with inventory to limit on waste, or to try new items, or bring back old favorites. You will also notice that there are two "pre-packaged" days. These shelf stable meals will be tested by students, with a survey for students to follow. In the future, these will be utilized for field trips, brain freeze days and emergencies when there may not be staffing. These meals DO meet USDA school lunch requirements. If utilized more in the coming years, on those days, schools will still also provide salad bars, or other supplemental items. As always, if any questions or concerns as it relates to school meals, please direct those to Justin Hough, Director of Child Nutrition and Wellness, at jhough@k12.wv.us.
