There will be an informational meeting for all 7th grade girls who would like to tryout for junior princess, as well as 11th grade girls who would like to try-out for senior princess, and 11th grade boys who would like to be an escort or a king candidate for the 81st Buckwheat Festival. These meetings will take place on Monday, December 5th, Tuesday, December 6th and Wednesday December 7th, at 6:30 in the Mill Room of the KFVD Community Building. You must attend one of these meetings with a parent or guardian in order to try-out for junior princess, senior princess, escort or king candidate this year.

There will be an LSIC (Local School Improvement Council) Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 29th at 5:30 in the cafeteria. Even if you are not an identified member of the LSIC, or would like be on the LSIC, you are welcome to attend. The focus of the meeting will be diagnostic growth, behaviors, parent involvement and any new business that needs addressed or plans for the upcoming meetings. See you then.

Today, our students were provided with a free show from an amazing entertainer who will be providing some more entertainment at the open house tomorrow for the all-new youth center in Terra Alta, fittingly being dubbed ‘The Hangout.’ Please join them tomorrow as they welcome all into their facility to show everyone what will be offered to our kiddos after school this year. All are welcome tomorrow from 3-5 to tour the facility and be entertained with a puppet show. Refreshments will be available. Hope to see you all there.

Please join us as we host the first Black&Silver scrimmage boy's basketball game on November 25th at 5:45, which showcases your Preston Knights before they begin their season. Admission is free and concessions will be available.

Students at Terra Alta East Preston have an exciting opportunity to join the After School Explorers!
This program helps target learning gaps and promotes study skills and well-rounded activities.
ASE runs from 2:25-4:25, Monday through Thursday. We will not have a bus available, so parents must pick their child up. ASE includes a snack, math and literacy enrichment, homework help, and art, music, and physical activities. It is available for students in grades K through 8, and you can sign up with an application from the office or by requesting one from your child's teacher.
We are planning to start up right after Thanksgiving, so get your application in ASAP! Any questions, feel free to contact the main office.
We are all set-up for our Veteran’s Program this afternoon. Just a reminder, the program begins at 12:30, with our local heroes arriving for a light reception at 12:00. The program will be live streamed on the Terra Alta East Preston Facebook page. A special thanks to our band, choir, and 8th graders for preparing the ceremony. Thank you to the PHS JROTC for providing Color Guard duties. Also, a huge thanks to our PTO and Terra Alta Civic Club for their continued support of this event, our school, community and Veterans.

Our school is participating in “College Application and Exploration Week.” During this week, we will focus on helping students learn about the importance of planning for college and about the many college options available to them.
One activity will be “College Colors Day” which students are encouraged to wear the colors of their favorite college or university, or to wear their favorite college gear on Friday, November 4th. Students must abide by the school’s dress code and avoid wearing inappropriate clothes. Hope to see everyone repping their favorite college or university.
