Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Monday, February 9th. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule & students and all other staff reports on a 2-hour delay.
Parent pickup at Terra Alta / East Preston will begin at 12:45 PM. It is anticipated that buses will depart the school between 12:40 PM to 12:50 PM.
School specific messaging will be sent tomorrow morning (2/6/26) related to parent pickup times at each district school tomorrow afternoon.
Preston County Schools will be dismissing Preston High School 3 hours early at approximately 12:15 PM tomorrow, Friday, February 6th. Buses will then travel to outlying schools who will be dismissing between 1.5 and 2 hours early and delivering all students home on one bus run. All after school activities will be cancelled for tomorrow. The status of activities on Saturday will be announced later.

Due to having no in-person school this week and delivery routes being impeded, all schools will be on "Cook's Choice" next week, and we will pick up with the regularly planned menus on February 9th. Each school's Facebook page will have their updated menu for the week.
As of now, following this past week of inclement weather to our state and area, PCS has exhausted all allotted Snow Days and Non-Traditional Instruction (Brain Freeze) Days. Due to the 6th Snow Day called on January 27th, as of now, April 7th is an Instructional Day for Students. Due to the severity of this past weekend's and week's winter storm, if the State Department would choose to grant waivers or exceptions to days' used, we will communicate that and adjust the calendar accordingly.

Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other staff reports on a 2-hour delay. All schools will be open from 10 AM- 12 PM for students who need help & lunches will be served from 11AM -12 PM. Extracurricular activities will be permitted with coaches communicating with student athletes and parents about potential optional practice sessions or competitions.
