April 22nd, originally part of Spring Break, is now an instructional day as we have to make up a snow day. Students and staff will be in schools that day. Also, due to missing so many days, February 7th is no longer a 2 hour early dismissal. It will be a full day. Any additional days will be made up after May 30th.
Due to wind creating road condition issues Bible Club is canceled after school today, Tuesday, January 28th. Students will be sent home on their regular bus run.
Due to road work, tree-cutting, and other issues beyond our control, the following bus routes will be using alternate stop locations this afternoon. These are for Bruceton Area, Terra Alta, and PHS students.
Bruceton - Bus 29-23, Brett Slage and 22-21 Gerri Shaffer will be using alternate stop locations. In Terra Alta, Bus 121, Bruce Ragione will meet parents in the Cranesville, Afton areas at the White Oak Church.
Preston County Schools is currently doing an overhaul of its phone system. With the new system has come changes in employee extensions. Listed below are the new county office extensions. Schools will begin updating as their new systems are installed. If you reach an error on an old extension at a school, just place a "3" in front of the old number.

Good evening, Eagle families. A couple of updates to this week. During our basketball games on Friday night, we will recognize our 8th grade students. There is also an additional game this week against Central Preston being played at Preston High School on Saturday. Boys will play at 12 pm and girls at 1:15 pm.
Next week is National School Counseling week. We will have spirit days with Monday - pajama day, Tuesday - sports day, Wednesday - kindness day/dreaming of kindness, Thursday - career day/dream of my future, and Friday - Marvel Day/you are marvelous.
A couple of reminders for this week - we may have phone interruptions on Thursday during our new phone installation and Friday we will send home report cards with students. Also, if you haven't yet done so, please send in the band boosters Marianna fundraiser. It is now past due. Pick up will be February 12th.

West Virginia ranks in the top five spots for childhood obesity in the nation. Day-of-Play encourages children to engage in physical activity and live a healthy lifestyle, whether at school, playing with friends, or spending time outdoors. Day-of-Play wants to lower the rate of childhood obesity in West Virginia. It is a free event happening in Morgantown, West Virginia on March 8th, 2025 at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility. Good evening, Eagle Families. This week at East we have the following: The money for the Marianna's fundraiser for band boosters is now due. Pick up will be on February 12th. The girls and boys basketball teams play at home this evening against Central Preston. Gate opens at 5 pm. Please bring correct change. Admission for adults is $5. Students under the age of 12 in attendance must be supervised by an adult at all times. Students over 12 who are dropped off must be picked up promptly at the conclusion of the game (late pick-ups can result in suspension of attendance privileges). Students must remain in the building and will not be readmitted if they leave the building. As a reminder, we do not allow food or drink in the gym. The girls team only will play Wednesday evening at 5:45 pm (again gates open at 5 pm). Please consume concessions in the cafeteria. East will be receiving a new phone system on Thursday and may have phone line interruptions throughout the day. Report cards will come home with students on Friday. And finally, on Friday, both girls and boys basketball teams will play at home (against Covenant Christian School). Gate opens at 5 pm

Two TAEP students received ribbons: Marlowe Facemire-Urban (4th place, grade 5) and Grady Walsh (2nd place, grade 4).
Today’s math field day awards will begin at 12:30. There isn't parking at the lower lot at the VFD Community Building. Parents attending can park at the Civic Center and we’ll begin shuttling at 12:00 in ten minute intervals.

Bus Run Updates for Friday January 24th:
Terra Alta and PHS - Bus 70-16, Charlie McCarty will not run tomorrow. Bus 70-16 will not run.
Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other students & staff will report on a 2-hour delay.
All after school and extracurricular activities are permitted today, including practices and games. 1st place science fair winners from East, South, Aurora and Bruceton will practice at KES from 3:30-6. Please bring all required forms. If you can't attend, please notify Mrs. Zigray.
Today's lunch at TAEP is: hot dogs, fries and baked beans. Please call the school by 10 am to order. Thanks. Stay warm!
Good evening, Eagle families. Our Term 2 P.B.I.S. in-school Rewards Day is Friday, January 24th. This is also math field day for those students participating in math field day. We will arrange a separate reward for our math field day participants.
Also, the temperature throughout the building can vary so please have students dress in warm layers, and remember it is still really cold while waiting on buses, so students need to dress for extreme cold.
7th and 8th grade students wishing to participate in the Scholar Summit must submit the online application by January 23rd (tomorrow). The link is available in Schoology in the updates section.

Attention all 8th grade parents: Your child was given a permission slip to participate in a Career Technical Education tour of Preston High School that will take place this Monday, January 27th. We will be leaving school around 8am that morning and should return to the school before lunch. Please sign and return the permission slip by Friday, Jan. 24th. Thank you!
