On Friday May 2nd, students from multiple CTE concentrations had the opportunity to attend Beitzel Corporation and Pillar Innovations' Career Day. Students were given insight into what a potential career with Beitzel and Pillar could look like for them. They all had a great time discussing career opportunities, trying out the excavator and dozer simulators, participating in the drone presentation, playing cornhole, and touring the working shops.  We'd like to thank Beitzel Corporation and Pillar Innovations for this great opportunity.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week across the country, and we may be biased, but we believe that Preston County Schools has the best. For our teachers, there's no such thing as just a 40 hour work week, or summers, weekends and holidays off. These selfless individuals work tirelessly year-round as they're dedicated to the education of our youth and working to ensure our students are successful beyond the classroom and become the good people we know they are and can be. We thank our teachers this week and every week, and ask that you join us this week in celebrating our PCS Teachers.

Stay strong PHS!!! I know the school year is almost to an end but it’s still important to attend school as much as possible! There are final’s exemptions for many of you with A’s, B’s, and C’s so don’t squander the opportunity to potentially be excused from finals because of poor attendance!  We are also going to be giving away some nice attendance prizes as the year winds down. So don’t miss out and let’s finish this year strong Preston High!!

This afternoon, thanks in part to the Preston County Chamber of Commerce and PHS Students and Staff, there were 30 vendors on site at PHS for a student and community career fair. This presented an excellent opportunity not only for our students, but for locals to connect with local businesses about current and future employment opportunities. We are so thankful for the continued partnerships with the Chamber and our local businesses.
