Our collection of food items for Easter meals through the "Let Your Light Shine" organization continues to grow at Kingwood Elementary! Kindergarten is still in the lead for most collections with 258 donated items, but third graders are quickly gaining momentum! Tune in to see who wins the pizza party and how many families we will ultimately help feed!



Children who eat breakfast have increased alertness and improved moods throughout the morning, making for a better learning experience in the classroom.

So that everyone is on the same page, our third-graders will be taking the Writing General Summative Assessment tomorrow, March 5th and our fourth-graders will be taking the Writing General Summative Assessment on Tuesday, March 12th. It's time to celebrate National School Breakfast Week, March 4-8! All students in Preston County Schools (PCS) have an opportunity to start their morning off with a free breakfast at school. This week reminds us of the importance of a healthy balanced breakfast, which includes a variety of breakfast items, fruit, juice, and milk.



Miss Barlow and fourth grade students Zach McNair and Olivia Kelly represented Kingwood Elementary at the All-State Children's Chorus this past week in Charleston, WV.


The Snowball Fight continues with the Preston County Schools Reading Challenge. These standings are current as of March 1, 2024.


Today, Friday, March 1st, bus 65-15, Aaron Knotts, for Kingwood and Preston High, will be running 20 minutes late.

Congratulations to Miss Kylie's Gatorade Students of the Month for February! These students are being recognized for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership in wellness class!

KES Families: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be POSTPONING student-led data conferences and Dr. Seuss Night until NEXT Friday, March 8th. Data conferences will still be from 5-6PM. Seuss Night will still be from 6-7PM. If your child's classroom teacher will not be available during that time, he or she will contact you. Here is an update on our food drive for Easter meals through "Let Your Light Shine!" Currently, kindergarten is in the lead for most collected items and on their way to earning a pizza party! Items will be collected through March 14th.



Legal Aid of West Virginia's Lawyer in the School program is offering walk in clinics at West Preston School over the course of the next few months. See attached flier for more details.
