Middle school orientation for 6th graders and new middle school students will be tonight at 6:00 in the cafeteria during the Back-to-School Bash.

Just a reminder that kids will need a pair of soft-soled, non-marking shoes to change into for gym class. Their gym shoes can be stored at school. This will help protect the new gym floor. Our new gym floor is possible thanks to the county’s excess levy.

Don’t forget about our beatification work day tomorrow. We’ll start at 9:00 and you can stay as long as you’re able. If you can, please bring gloves, shovels, rakes, etc. for landscaping help. We could also use an extra wheelbarrow. We could also use any cleaning supplies since our stock is low from summer and the replenishment shipment from the janitorial company won’t be here until Monday. Thank you in advance for all your help and support! We move our wonderful community!

Our new hallway mural is coming along beautifully! Thank you so much to Abby Perry for painting it!

Here are some pics updating our painting. Second coat is going on now. A huge thank you to our volunteer crew: Brian Sell from Sell Enterprises, and JR Ford, Brandon Perry, and Abby Perry from Perry Electric. The materials were supplied by the county with funds from the excess levy. Thank you all for helping to make our school look great!

Our Pre-K teachers want all their students’ parents to know that they plan to contact each parent with information about back-to-school and home visits by the end of this week.

Today we welcome our teachers and service personnel back to school! We can’t wait to see all the kids next week!

A reminder of a few county and school policies:
- All educational leave forms must be submitted 30 days in advance or they will not be approved.
- Parents must send in written notes for afternoon pick-up changes. We do not accept phone calls, text messages, Schoology/SeeSaw messages, etc. except in emergency situations. This is for your child's protection.
- Preston County School's policy does not allow for bus passes. If you need a permanent or semi-permanent alternative bus stop, you must fill out a request for alternative bus stop and have it approved by the transportation department.
- No students are to be signed out through the main office after 2:00pm. This is to ensure the safety of your child as we prepare for dismissal. If you need to pick up your child after 2:00pm, you must use the parent pick-up line.

Due to required staff trainings, the office will be closed this Wednesday through Friday. If you have documents to deliver or need anything from the office, please make arrangements to stop by this Monday or Tuesday.
