Hello, my name is Trista Friend. I grew up here in Preston County. I live on a farm with my husband and two girls. When I’m not working you can find me farming, cheering my kids on from the sidelines during their various sporting events, or volunteering with 4-H. I’m looking forward to working in your school and getting to know everyone. We're excited to have Trista with us this year!

Hi everyone, my name is Thomas Vallone and I’m extremely excited to begin my teaching journey here at Bruceton as a special education teacher. I graduated from WVU this past May with a degree in elementary education and am currently working to get my masters in special education by the end of this school year. I’m originally from Connecticut and have all of my family back home there still. My passions include sports, art, and traveling. I cannot wait to be apart of the Bruceton family this year!

Anyone needing an athlete physical form for middle school sports can find them on our school website under the Parents tab by clicking on the Main Menu. Also, the main office is open during regular hours to handle new enrollments. Don't forget to save the dates: August 17th from 5-7pm is both 6th Grade Academy and Kindergarten Parent Orientation. Back-to-School Bash is August 18th from 5-7pm.

Hi! My name is Claire Kelley and I’m super excited to be at Bruceton School this year as a kindergarten teacher! I graduated from WVU this past December with my undergraduate in childhood development with an emphasis in special education and this will be my first year teaching. Hi, I am Halie Casto and I am going into my second year of teaching. This upcoming year, I'll be joining Bruceton School as a kindergarten teacher. I graduated from WVU with my degree in teaching and am very excited to be working at Bruceton School. I cannot wait to see what Bruceton has to offer and to get to meet and grow with my students this year! Some of my favorite things are painting, creating crafts with my Cricut, and seeing new places. We are going to have such a great year and I cannot wait for the school year to start!

Hello, Bruceton community! My name is Dawnell Ticarich (Miss T) and I am so excited to be at Bruceton School this year as a second grade teacher! I graduated from WVU in May with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and will be returning this fall to complete my Masters in Literacy Education. This will be my very first year teaching! I completed my student teaching in a second grade classroom and fell in love. I am from a small town in Ohio and frequently return to spend quality time with my great-grandmother, Luella. I am counting down the days until I get to meet you all. Until then, I will be spending the rest of my summer playing with my two kitties, Stormi and Mr. Man, making friends with fellow teachers and preparing my classroom to provide the most magical learning experience for all of us! I am so proud to be apart of this community. See you soon, Bulldogs! I cannot wait!

So what is a sensory path?
A sensory path is a series of guided movements for kids to follow, shown by markings on the ground or walls. As students follow the path and complete the movements, they work off excess energy and develop their gross motor skills. The various movements on a path are often designed to engage different parts of the body and brain, from frog hops to spins and wall pushes. You’ll find sensory paths in school hallways or on playgrounds, from pre-K through middle schools.

Welcome to Morgan Moss! She's joining our Bulldog family in middle school!
Hi! My name is Morgan Moss. I am a 4th year teacher. I have taught 5th grade for the past three years. I graduated from WVU with my master's in elementary education and I have an emphasis in special education. I am working on my degree for school counseling. I will be teaching 6th grade this year at Bruceton and I am so excited and thankful to be here!

We are inviting all 6th graders and their parents to join us for our 6th Grade Academy. Students and parents will be able to learn everything they need to know to start middle school on the right note. This includes things like class schedules, Schoology, course requirements, middle school sports and athletics, lockers, and much more.
August 17th: Kindergarten Parent Orientation
5:00 - 7:00pm
Kindergarten parents will be able to meet their child's teacher and learn everything they need to know to help their child begin kindergarten.
August 18th: Back to School Bash
5:00 - 7:00pm
All parents, students, and community members are welcome to join us to kick off the new school year! Parents and kids can meet their teachers, check out activities, games, and much more.
Our summer custodian crew has been busy waxing floors, painting, cleaning windows, and much much more. They've gotten a lot done, however we still have more to go. Here's some pics of their progress.

I graduated from Fairmont State University and will be going into my second year doing what I love: teaching! Teaching at Bruceton School has been an ultimate goal of mine for quite some time. Hi! My name is Emma Harvey. I’ve grown up in Bruceton my whole life and attended Bruceton School from pre-k through 8th grade. I graduated from Preston High School and just graduated college from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. I will be the new music and choir teacher, and, yes, I do love to sing. Fun fact: my favorite animal is a shark! I’m so excited to start my teaching career at Bruceton!
