Mrs. Vrabel’s 4th graders celebrated the end of their narrative literature unit on the book “Because of Winn-Dixie.” Just like in the book, the dog-themed party was complete with egg salad sandwiches, pickles, Dump punch, and sharing their stories and thoughts while enjoying "Littmus Lozenges” candy.

Mrs. Stump’s middle school math classes today got to discuss and talk about the math behind the Buckwheat Festival and topped it off with some of that delicious whole hog sausage!

Our middle school life skills class tried their hand at making 'modified' buckwheat cakes today using half buckwheat, half Bisquick, mashed banana, brown sugar, and eggs. They seemed to be quite the hit!

Last week, Mrs. McKeever's 8th grade homeroom had zero absences and zero tardies! They get to keep Bruce this week and gave him a sombrero and some other accessories. We'd like to introduce Bruce Francis Wayne.

Mr. Larry is always ready to sit and listen to a story that a student needs to tell him.

Some second graders with Miss T worked through a read aloud STEM activity today to celebrate Spanish Heritage Month. They read about Pelè, the Spanish soccer king and all of his accomplishments. The kids wrote an informative writing piece about Pelè and used the three new Spanish vocabulary words they were excited to learn- rey (king) campeon (champion) and fùtbol (soccer). Then, they finished the day with an engineering STEM activity where students had to work through the engineering design process to build a soccer stadium for Pelè.

To get ready for the Buckwheat Festival, some of our pre-k kids decided to practice for the lamb dressing competition.
