Good morning. Bus 11-20, Bill Knotts, Bruceton School and Preston High will not run today, Tuesday, October 3rd.

Just a reminder for 8th grade parents that apple butter permission slips and the $8 donation toward purchasing the sauce are due tomorrow, October 4th. This is to help with the annual 8th grade trip.

Good afternoon. Bus 80-17 Stephanie Hamilton in Bruceton will not run tomorrow, Tuesday, October 3rd. Kings and Queens Day Care students will ride bus 122 between the day care and school.

Tonight's middle school home volleyball game against Northern Garrett has been cancelled. No word yet on if it will be rescheduled.

There will also be extra Original Krispy Kreme Glazed Donuts for sale both days if anyone is interested.

Mrs. Vrabel’s 4th graders celebrated the end of their narrative literature unit on the book “Because of Winn-Dixie.” Just like in the book, the dog-themed party was complete with egg salad sandwiches, pickles, Dump punch, and sharing their stories and thoughts while enjoying "Littmus Lozenges” candy.

Ms. Kelley's kindergarteners gave Bruce the Bulldog a makeover. They won one of the traveling statues this week for having perfect attendance and zero tardies last week! We'll find out Monday if any homerooms earned a Bruce statue for this week. #SchoolOfChampions #GoodThingsHappenHere


Ms. Friend's first graders did apple taste testing today and graphed the results. Turns out the class' favorite is Granny Smith!

Mrs. Kristin's pre-K class spent the week bringing some Buckwheat Festival traditions to life in the classroom. They did a lamb dressing contest, created exhibits, made a buckwheat cake breakfast, showed their animals, and had a parade.

This is a reminder that all Preston County Schools will be dismissed two hours early today, Thursday, September 28th and closed tomorrow, Friday, September 29th so that students and staff may take part in the Buckwheat Festival activities. Mrs. Stump’s middle school math classes today got to discuss and talk about the math behind the Buckwheat Festival and topped it off with some of that delicious whole hog sausage!





Our middle school life skills class tried their hand at making 'modified' buckwheat cakes today using half buckwheat, half Bisquick, mashed banana, brown sugar, and eggs. They seemed to be quite the hit!




Last week, Mrs. McKeever's 8th grade homeroom had zero absences and zero tardies! They get to keep Bruce this week and gave him a sombrero and some other accessories. We'd like to introduce Bruce Francis Wayne.
