A sign-up sheet will be placed in the school office in the near future for any 6th-8th grader interested in joining the Middle School Track Team. Further information will be forthcoming. Season will begin March 7th. Athletes must have a 2.0 gpa and a current physical on file at the school. If your child participated in a fall or winter sport, this requirement has been met. Athletic Boosters will meet on February 17th at 5:00 in the library to discuss the upcoming Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser, new flooring for the gymnasium, and more.
Due to the county Social Studies Fair and the boys basketball game, the LSIC meeting for Tuesday, February 15th has to be cancelled. A letter will be sent out once a new date and time has been scheduled. I apologize for the short notice.

Preston County Schools will be closed for today, Monday, February 14th, & it’s a “Brain Freeze” day. Students do not report; however, all staff who have not yet reported will report on a 2-hour delay. Students & parents should check their Schoology or Seesaw accounts for assignments. Finally, the status of other extracurricular activities will be announced later today.
Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for today, Monday, February 14th. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, and all other students and staff will report on a 2-hour delay.
With today being a Brain Freeze Day and being a curricular day, extra-curricular activities may proceed based on improving road conditions. Setup for the County Social Studies Fair will proceed as scheduled from 5-7 PM at the Craig Civic Center. The scheduled Preston High boys' & girls' basketball games will proceed as scheduled as well. In addition, all other high school or middle school athletic teams may practice this evening with practice schedules and times being communicated by individual coaches. However, shuttle buses will not run today. Finally, no ASE activities will occur at district schools this evening.

Due to impending winter weather, all staff will not report in person tomorrow, Friday, February 4th. Staff development training will take place remotely for all professional & service personnel staff including board-hired, long-term & leave of absence subs. Service personnel will be completing online training assigned by classification that will not be available until Friday. Professional staff will complete Faculty Senate & other training activities remotely & instructions should be provided by your building administrator. Parents, the Mobile Dentist is cancelled for Monday Feb. 7th and weather permitting, has been rescheduled for Thursday Feb. 24th 2022. Because participation is low, the dentist has paired us up with Rowlesburg School in order for them to have an entire work day. As a reminder, we are still accepting applications should anyone want to sign their child up. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our school nurse, Cris Roth.
A signup sheet will be going around each class for 3rd-6th grade girls and boys interested in Youth League Grasshopper Basketball. There will also be a signup sheet at Aurora Youth League Camps for the next couple of weeks. Youth League Camps in the month of February will be from 10:00am-1:30pm. Aurora students that ride Kenny Pomeroy's bus (Bus 31-21) for Wednesday and Thursday, the morning bus will run however, it will be running approximately 20 - 30 minutes late.
