Book Bingo is free for all Aurora School Families. Come anytime between 5:30-7:00 and join a game or stay for the whole time. We have lots of books to choose from.

It's time to celebrate National School Breakfast Week, March 4-8! All students in Preston County Schools (PCS) have an opportunity to start their morning off with a free breakfast at school. This week reminds us of the importance of a healthy balanced breakfast, which includes a variety of breakfast items, fruit, juice, and milk.



The Snowball Fight continues with the Preston County Schools Reading Challenge. These standings are current as of March 1, 2024.

Today, we handed out a copy of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH to every student! We are so excited to once again be able to participate in the One School, One Book program! We have lots of challenges for students this year including a way to log your child's reading minutes. If you have never logged in to Beanstack before, please see the directions below. Students can track their minutes and earn badges and prizes! Thank you to Mrs. Rembold for creating the Beanstack challenge and directions for us! Students will also bring home a schedule and family letter explaining the program.








Softball officially begins Monday with practice after school at 3:30 and baseball on Tuesday beginning at 5:00. All interested players need to report to the East Preston gym with a physical, water source, glove if you have it, bat if you have it, and clean shoes for inside if practice needs to be held on the gym flood. For the boys, the tryout portion will take place Tuesday to Friday, with cuts being made at the end of practice on Friday.

A representative from the Health Sciences and Technology Academy (HSTA) will be visiting with 8th grade students next week. In addition to the visits with the students that have already been scheduled at your schools, they will be hosting parent/guardian information sessions at Preston High School on Wednesday, March 6, 6:00pm, in Ms. Tina Cool's classroom. Parents, this is a reminder that our spring pictures will be taken on Monday, February 26th. Order forms were previously sent home with each student. Parents, Rick Bachtel will be running his route this evening so all students will be dropped off at their normal time.

Tomorrow, February 20, the following bus changes will occur: Stemple Ridge and Fox Road students will be picked up 20 minutes early on the morning run. Students riding Dan's bus will be picked up approximately 10 minutes late. Route 50 students who ride Rick Bachtel's bus will be picked up approximately 5 to 10 minutes late.
In the evening, students on Stemple Ridge and Fox Road will arrive home approximately 30 minutes late. Route 50 students who ride Doug Combs bus will be dropped off approximately 10 minutes late.

Attention all middle school students in grades 6-8! It's time to lace up your running shoes and get ready to hit the track! Whether you're a seasoned athlete or looking to try something new, we welcome you to join our middle school track team! Please make sure your athlete has a current physical for the school year if they have not already participated in a fall or winter sport. All boys and girls in grades 6-8 with required GPA are eligible to join. Don't miss out on this opportunity to improve your physical fitness, make new friends, and represent our school with pride on the track! There have been some changes related to Saturday's Middle School Basketball Championship related to potential winter weather. The Boys' Varsity game between West Preston and Central Preston is still scheduled for 10 AM at the Preston High School Gym. Spectators may enter at 9 AM. The preliminaries for the boys' and girls' skills competitions will immediately follow the boys' championship game and will begin at approximately 11:30 AM. These preliminaries will determine the finalists for these competitions with the boys' finalists competing at halftime of the girls' championship game and the girls' finalists competing at halftime of the boys' JV game. The Girls' Varsity game between Terra Alta / East Preston and Central Preston will begin at approximately 1 PM. Finally, the Boys' JV Championship between Central Preston and West Preston will take place immediately following the girls' championship game at approximately 2:30 PM. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday! The games will also be broadcast on Mountain Digital and on the Preston High YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@phsn7016.
