After consulting with the National Weather Service, Preston High School would like to announce that tonight's graduation ceremony will take place as scheduled at Knights Stadium beginning at 7:30 PM. Graduates are to be at the Gym at 6:45 PM for check-in. Parking attendants will be posted beginning at 6 PM. Handicap-accessible parking will be available behind the school and will require a permit or PHS-issued permit. General parking is available in the main PHS parking lot, student parking lots, lots adjacent to the vocational school, the gravel lot near the community soccer field, and Board of Education lot. Overflow parking will also be available in the field near the triangle intersection and at Central Preston Middle School. We encourage visitors to bring a stadium seat or towel to dry seats in case of any unanticipated rain this afternoon. Umbrellas will be prohibited in the Stadium. The ceremony will be broadcast on the Preston County Schools Facebook page and the live stream link on the BOE website. Mountain Digitial will also be broadcasting the event on their youtube channel as well as via Prodigi and Breezeline. These links will be shared prior to tonight's ceremony. We look to forward to seeing everyone at graduation tonight!

West Area Bus Run - Bus 76-16, Cassandra Dobbins will not run tomorrow. Bus 76-16 for West Preston area and PHS Students will not run tomorrow. If you are interested, or know anyone interested in sub driving, please contact the bus garage.

PCS Service Person of the Year (Barbara Wade)-- ECCAT Aide at Kingwood Elementary School. PCS Coach of the Year (Brad Reed)-- Head Coaching Coach at Preston High School. Mrs. Dani Kelley (Extended Learning Facilitator): Primary author of the successful WV First Foundation Initial Opportunity Grant. This grant totaled $93,212.58 and will be used to fund one of the AEP teaching positions, instructional supplies for the program, and partially fund the School Resource Officer position at Preston High School. Bagged Lunch Survey Information/Data: Based on survey responses, and as previously stated, we will only be utilizing the pre-packaged bagged meals for those reasons previously put out, with a majority of students stating they believe they are acceptable under those circumstances. We will also be exploring other options for alternatives, as in question 8, during school year 25-26 if emergency situations were to arise.

With the exception of a hand-full of make-ups, the West Virginia General Summative Assessment is complete in Preston County. The overall goal may be proficiency, but each student's goal should be to do his or her best and improve from year to year. This year is no exception as we're seeing improvements throughout the county. We're proud of our students' and staffs' efforts these past two weeks of testing. The year isn't over just yet. Keep up all the hard work.

Brittany Foley Thomas Memorial - 5th Grade Track & Field Challenge Preston County Schools will be hosting the Brittany Foley Thomas - 5th Grade Track & Field Challenge on Monday, May 19, 2025. The meet will be held at the Dr. John Trenton Track & Field Facility at Preston High School. Below is the schedule of events. 9:00 a.m. - Long Jump and Softball Throw 9:30 a.m. - 100 Meter Dash 10:00 a.m. - 400 Meter Dash 10:30 a.m. - 50 Meter Dash 11:00 a.m. - 200 Meter Dash 11:30 a.m. - Lunch 12:00 p.m. - Cross Country Run 12:45 p.m. - 4 x 100 1:15 p.m. - Depart for home NOTES: Times are approximate. Girls will run first followed by the boys. Parents are welcome and there is not an admission fee. This meet is made possible by Preston County Schools and friends and family of the Foley and Thomas families. Students are asked to wear a shirt in the color of their school.
