The PCS Board of Education recognized this year's Preston County Golden Horseshoe winners on Tuesday, May 28th for their outstanding work: Jacob Smith-Tatham, Brianna Watkinson, & Kaiden Rankin received certificates and congratulations from the BOE (not pictured - Sarah Dew).
On Tuesday,May 28th teacher of the year Sarah Rose (West Preston) & coach of the year Seegee Bachtel (Aurora) were recognized by the BOE.
PCS Congratulates 18 Employees on Retirement
Preston County Schools recognized 18 staff who are retiring. With a combined 462 years of experience, the staff members were honored with a certificate and reception. The staff included aides, bus drivers, custodians, special education teachers, general education teachers, secretaries, and directors. Assistant Superintendent Angellicia Varner said, “They have all dedicated their time, caring, and love of children to Preston County Schools and we are extremely grateful for everything you [to the employees] have done.”

Tonight's Preston High School Graduation Ceremony will take place outdoors at Knights Stadium beginning at 7:30 PM. Graduating senior students need to assemble in the Gym by 6:30 PM. After continued review of the anticipated weather forecast for both tonight and tomorrow, and based on ongoing consultation with the National Weather Service, the decision has been made to postpone tonight's scheduled graduation ceremony at Preston High School and reschedule the ceremony for Friday, May 24th at 7:30 PM. Graduating seniors will need to report to the school by 6:30 PM.
Preston County Schools will dismiss 2 hours early tomorrow, Friday, May 24th, the last day of the school year. Have a safe and fun summer! And don't forget to read 20 minutes a day! See you in August!

The Preston High School graduation ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow at Knights Stadium beginning at 7:30 PM. School officials will continue to assess the weather forecast and make a decision on the status of tomorrow night's ceremony by early afternoon. If the graduation ceremony is postponed, the event will be rescheduled to Friday night.
