On Friday, April 10, 2026, Preston County Schools sponsored the second annual Fine Arts Festival at Preston High School. The event began with theatrical performances by the PHS Musical Theater Ensemble and Aurora School Musical Theater Group, along with monologues performed by PHS students in the PHS Theater.
Next, guests were invited to view an art exhibit from county students from each school in the PHS Media Center. The night concluded with performances by middle and high school chorus students, the PHS Steel Drum Band, the PHS Band, and Middle School All County Band directed by Guest Conductor Mr. Roger Walker along with a final combined performance by the PHS and Middle School School bands.
The event provided a showcase for our hugely talented students and teachers and was enjoyed by all in attendance. Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Brenda Layton who has helped spearhead this event over the past two years; Mrs. Michelle Liga who coordinated the event this year in conjunction with teacher leads: Tiffany Hardy (Art), Will Nose (Band), Emma Harvey (Chorus), Leah DeLauder (Theater) and other county teachers including: Claire Jones, Scott Fischer, Joan Carr, Kendall Adams, Megan Ward, Sabrina Spiker, Kim Taylor, Jonathan Henry, Abigail Rexroad, Mark Wallace, Shawn Dunn, Jalina Spiker, Duane Salisbury, and Lauren Sperry. Great job to all involved.
