Any questions, please reach out to KES admin.
(CPMS and PHS transfer students normally catching and getting off the bus at KES will need to utilize their home school's drop off and pick up procedures for the week.)
📢 Important Update: Buckwheat Festival Week Drop-Off & Pickup Procedures 📢
Kingwood Elementary, in partnership with the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department and Kingwood City Police Department, has created a safe and efficient alternate plan for drop-off and pickup during the week of September 22–25.

✅ Gate Opens: 7:10 AM
✅ Procedure:
• Park in the graveled area in the center of the lot.
• Walk with your student to the sidewalk to wait for the bus.
• Bus arrives at 7:25 AM to transport students to school.
⏰ Miss the bus? You must sign your child in at the main office after 7:30 AM once buses have cleared the lot.
🚙 Afternoon Pickup:
✅ Location: Same as drop-off
✅ Gate Opens: 2:00 PM
✅ Procedure:
• Park in the graveled area and wait on the sidewalk.
• Students will arrive by bus around 2:30 PM and be released directly to families.
• ⏱ Any child not picked up by 2:45 PM will be taken back to KES and can be signed out at the main office.
🚦 Important: No vehicles may leave until buses have cleared. Staff will direct cars to file out safely behind the buses once students are loaded.

The United States Constitution, America’s most important document, stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms and inalienable rights. And, Constitution Week is celebrated annually during the week of September 17-23 to commemorate its history, importance, and bring attention to how it serves still today.
This celebration of the Constitution was started by the Daughters of the American Revolution. In 1955, DAR petitioned Congress to set aside September 17-23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week. The resolution was later adopted by the U.S. Congress and signed into public law on August 2, 1956, by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Constitution Day and Citizenship Day on September 17 is the central event, recognizing the signing of the Constitution in 1787 and honoring new and naturalized citizens.

There has been an uptick this past year across the state and county of drivers attempting to, or passing stopped school buses. This is a major safety concern for the students of Preston County. The link below is a video and news story that broke last spring when a student was nearly hit in Kanawha County, WV. We urge all residents of Preston County to look out for and support our students and bus drivers by following the law. Always stop for school buses. It is not just the law - it is a matter of life and safety. Thank you.

On Sept. 11, 2001, America was forever changed. It has been 24 years since the attacks, but that tragic day, which served as a true test of the American spirit, will be remembered always. So on this day, we observe Patriot Day and all that it represents—we honor the value of life, those we loved and lost, our country’s resilience, and the strength of the American spirit. Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11. When Americans lend a hand to one another, nothing is impossible. We’re not about what happened on 9/11. We’re about what happened on 9/12.

"There are people in this country who work hard every day. Not for fame or fortune do they strive, but the fruits of their labor are worth more than their pay. You can see them every morning in the factories and the fields, in the city streets and the quiet country towns, working together like spokes inside a wheel. They keep this country turning around." - Alabama
