A required class for anyone interested in becoming a substitute custodian for Preston County Schools is scheduled on Thursday, January 13th, 2022 at the Preston County BOE Boardroom. The custodian class will begin at 12:30 PM. All potential applicants must be a high school graduate, pass the online custodian exam given at the class, complete a criminal background check, and will need to submit a bid for the position by visiting https://prestonboe.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx. Our school social studies fair is today! Our students have worked so hard to research and prepare their projects and speeches. We are so proud of them! We have participants from 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. The gym will be open from 3 - 5:00 pm today. If you would like to see your students project set-up, you are welcome to stop by. Please remember all students, staff and visitors must wear a mask. I will also be creating a virtual "tour" of the fair that you can check out from home. Our award ceremony will take place tomorrow morning at school. Winners will be announced via message and social media. This ceremony is closed to the public, but we will be holding an in-person recognition event in the spring for all of our winners. Good luck to all! Please contact Ms. McDonald with any questions.

Tonight's the night!! Join us for our annual Ornament Party hosted by FVDE! Students will have the chance to make at least ten ornaments and visit with Santa! Come join us for lots of fun from 5 - 7:00 pm! Please remember that due to our current Covid numbers and mandate, face coverings will be required for all students and visitors. See you tonight!

Preston County Schools are now closed for today, Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Students do not report and all extra-curricular activities are cancelled for today. Maintenance, mechanics, and all AM and PM custodians, including cook/custodians report on a regular schedule and may depart two hours early from their shifts. Other 240-day and extended-day staff are to report on a two-hour delay. All other staff does not report. This message is from PCS using the SM automated calling system.

For the week of Dec. 6 - 10, all students, staff, and visitors at West Preston School will be required to wear a face mask or shield. This mandate is determined by our current number of positive cases and quarantined individuals. Based on the BOE mask mandate, if 7% or more of our students/ staff are quarantined, we are required to return to wearing masks the following week. 7% of our school community equates to 51 people. We currently have 53 people quarantined. Our school numbers will be reevaluated each week to determine when the mandate can be lifted.

In September 2021 you received a printed copy of your child's WV General Summative Test Results and the SAT Test Results. The WVDE is providing an individual video score report for your student as part of a statewide pilot program. An email was send to your child's email address this afternoon (11/30/21) for you to access it and/or your personal email address if you have one on file.
