Preston County Schools is offering a bi-weekly pick-up for summer breakfasts/lunches (20 milks and 10 lunches/10 breakfasts every two weeks) for Free for all kids 18 and under beginning the week of June 29th, with the final pick-up being the week of August 10th -All meals are chef-prepared in a licensed central kitchen. They are kid-friendly, nutrient-dense, and include both a vegetable and fruit component with each entrée. They are Individually sealed, 3-compartment frozen meals, that can either be reheated via microwave or oven. Breakfasts will be a grain (cereals/muffins) component, along with a shelf-stable fruit component (Summer schools will be fed on-site; this is the option for non-summer school participants.) Pick-Up Schedule with dates and times will be sent out a couple weeks prior to the first pick-up week. Pick-up locations will be Bruceton School, West Preston, Central Preston, Terra Alta, and Aurora. Pick ups will be (1. Week of June 29th, 2. Week of July 13th, 3. Week of July 27th, 4. Week of August 10th - School is back on August 24th). We will have minimal extras at each site, so you must sign-up to ensure you get the meals. If your child is attending Summer School, they can still sign up for the final week's pick-up. If you are unable to make it to a pick-up site, please contact Justin Hough at jhough@k12.wv.us to make arrangements. We want to ensure all Preston County kids have the opportunity for meals this summer.

Try not to arrive before 8 as we have other trips that will be departing. If you signed up to bring a bagged lunch, try to have it in a bag that can be thrown away so that lunchboxes won't need to be carried around. Students should wear layers, as it gets chilly in the caves, and comfortable walking shoes. We hope the students have an amazing time on their trip!

PCS and West Preston would like to thank James Sanders of Titan Roofing and his team, board member Mike Hovatter of Mike's Towing, and Preston County Schools Maintenance Department for braving the elements yesterday and safely removing some old playground equipment from West Preston School. This equipment was removed for preparations to install new playground equipment that's being purchased, thanks to the Friends of Valley District Education. We love when our community comes together to make good things happen for our kids. Thanks to all involved yesterday, especially those who donated their time and equipment.
