Bagged Lunch Survey Information/Data: Based on survey responses, and as previously stated, we will only be utilizing the pre-packaged bagged meals for those reasons previously put out, with a majority of students stating they believe they are acceptable under those circumstances. We will also be exploring other options for alternatives, as in question 8, during school year 25-26 if emergency situations were to arise.

With the exception of a hand-full of make-ups, the West Virginia General Summative Assessment is complete in Preston County. The overall goal may be proficiency, but each student's goal should be to do his or her best and improve from year to year. This year is no exception as we're seeing improvements throughout the county. We're proud of our students' and staffs' efforts these past two weeks of testing. The year isn't over just yet. Keep up all the hard work.

Parents of WPS Band students, Many of you are aware that we have had a substitute with us to finish out the year. We are working hard to put on an end of year concert but many students have said they will not be here Thursday after school for a concert. We have made the decision to have the concert during the school day to try to have as many students present as possible. The concert will be at 1:30PM on Thursday May 22nd. It will be livestreamed on our site as well as recorded and shared after the event. Parents are invited to attend during the day. Students in band. Mr. Shaffer has asked that you wear a West Preston shirt and jeans. If you need a West Preston shirt, let Ms. Rhodes tomorrow (Wednesday).

Due to pending weather and the extension of the school year, we have decided to move our Summer Kick Off family engagement event to June 3rd. 55 degrees and rainy really doesn't scream summer to us. The Little Caesers pick up will still be on Thursday May 22nd from 5pm to 7pm . We will cross our fingers and hope for more summer like weather in June! Thank you for your understanding.

Brittany Foley Thomas Memorial - 5th Grade Track & Field Challenge Preston County Schools will be hosting the Brittany Foley Thomas - 5th Grade Track & Field Challenge on Monday, May 19, 2025. The meet will be held at the Dr. John Trenton Track & Field Facility at Preston High School. Below is the schedule of events. 9:00 a.m. - Long Jump and Softball Throw 9:30 a.m. - 100 Meter Dash 10:00 a.m. - 400 Meter Dash 10:30 a.m. - 50 Meter Dash 11:00 a.m. - 200 Meter Dash 11:30 a.m. - Lunch 12:00 p.m. - Cross Country Run 12:45 p.m. - 4 x 100 1:15 p.m. - Depart for home NOTES: Times are approximate. Girls will run first followed by the boys. Parents are welcome and there is not an admission fee.
