Based on survey responses, and as previously stated, we will only be utilizing the pre-packaged bagged meals for those reasons previously put out, with a majority of students stating they believe they are acceptable under those circumstances. We will also be exploring other options for alternatives, as in question 8, during school year 25-26 if emergency situations were to arise.

With the exception of a hand-full of make-ups, the West Virginia General Summative Assessment is complete in Preston County. The overall goal may be proficiency, but each student's goal should be to do his or her best and improve from year to year. This year is no exception as we're seeing improvements throughout the county. We're proud of our students' and staffs' efforts these past two weeks of testing. The year isn't over just yet. Keep up all the hard work.

As testing gets underway, the WVDE and Preston County Schools are providing student results in a faster, more efficient, and paper-saving manner. All results upon completion of testing can be found online in the parent portal. By the end of this week, your student will be bringing home a letter, with your unique access code, and an explanation of how to obtain the results. After today, all Math with the exception of KES 4th grade, who take it tomorrow, will be available for parents to see. ELA scores will not be available until up to 10 days beyond completion of the writing portion, as those must be hand-scored by the state. A message will go out when all scores are visible. Any questions, please contact Justin Hough, whose information is provided in the letter and on the accompanying image.
Also, just a reminder, but during testing week, if you're going to sign your student out, please let the school know first thing in the morning, as to not disrupt their testing once started.
