Kingwood Elementary was a sea of pink yesterday as our Stags came together in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! We proudly raised money for the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center in Morgantown, and thanks to the generosity of our KES family, we raised an amazing $400! 🎀
Thank you, Stags, for showing that we can make a difference by contributing to something bigger than ourselves—and have a little fun while doing it! We are proud of the compassion, generosity, and school spirit you continue to show!

Miss Kylie’s 3rd grade Wellness students are building strength, stamina, and endurance as they work toward an exciting goal: running a FULL MILE by the end of the school year! 💪
During each Wellness class, students kick things off by running for 5 minutes straight, gradually building their endurance and pushing themselves to reach new goals. Last week, we celebrated a BIG milestone as EVERY student successfully ran a ½ mile! 🎉🙌
Pictured here are the TOP 5 boys and TOP 5 girls runners across the entire third grade! Congratulations on your hard work and determination! 🌟
We are proud of ALL our Stags for putting in the effort, challenging themselves, and making progress one step at a time. Keep moving, keep improving, and keep working to make yourselves GREAT! 🧡🖤

Last year, Kingwood Elementary School teachers Misty Davis and Tiffany Sheets teamed up to write a mini-grant focused on bringing artificial intelligence (AI) into the elementary classroom. We are excited to celebrate that their innovative idea was awarded a Teacher Innovation Mini-Grant, supported by the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation and the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative (WVPEC)!
But they didn't stop there! 🚀
With this grant, Misty and Tiffany helped establish a school-based AI team that has:
✨ Provided professional development to empower KES educators to explore AI in their classrooms.
✨ Incorporated age-appropriate AI activities to make learning engaging, meaningful, and relevant for students.
✨ Invited families along for an AI Road Trip during our spring STEAM Night, bringing technology and learning together in a fun, interactive way!
Today, these innovative educators shared their journey and the impact of their grant at the 2026 WVPEC Teacher Innovation Mini-Grant Showcase in Morgantown! They also had the opportunity to learn from fellow educators, celebrate innovative ideas, and see firsthand how collaboration empowers teachers to make a difference for students across West Virginia.
We are so proud of Misty, Tiffany, and our entire KES AI team for embracing innovation, supporting their colleagues, and preparing our students for an ever-changing world! Their work is a wonderful reminder that when educators collaborate, learn together, and dare to try something new, amazing things happen! 🧡
