After assessment of roads in the eastern portion of the county, Preston County Schools will now operate on a 3-hour delay for today, Thursday, February 6th.

Any middle school boys interested in playing baseball, there will be a mandatory student and parent meeting on Wednesday, February 12th at 6:00pm in the cafeteria to gauge interest in forming a team.

Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Thursday, February 6th. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other students & staff will report on a 2-hour delay. Road conditions will be assessed in the morning and if circumstances warrant, the day could be shifted to a 3-hour delay or result in cancellation of school.

Due to impending winter weather in the eastern portion of the county, all after-school activities including school-sponsored sports as well as youth league games and practices are cancelled for tonight. Any school delay or cancellation status for tomorrow will be updated later today.

We have been in contact with a number of local clinics who have seen an uptick in strep, flu and a stomach virus. This is just a friendly reminder that as we work to keep our students and staff healthy this winter, please be reminded that if your child stays home or is picked up sick from school, he or she should not return until they are symptom free for 24 hours without medication. This includes fever (100.4+), cough, vomiting, and diarrhea. Remember you have 10 parent notes to use for the year in case of an absence. Be sure to turn either this or a doctor's slip in so we can mark your child excused.
