Preston County Schools Upcoming Staff Wellness Challenge:
Don't let time be an excuse to not take care of you. We're only at our best, because you're at your best. From November through February (4 Months), Staff is invited to participate in a wellness challenge. You can do this for personal benefit, pride, or county bragging rights. At the end of each month, certify yourself at the link provided on that month’s calendar (posted on Facebook). 6 winners will be chosen each month to receive a “Preston Strong” hat, courtesy of Affordable Signs Unlimited. Those 24 winners will also be placed into a drawing in March for a grand prize (TBD, but a goodie). The county will also keep track of school submissions and will post our "Top Schools" each month.
Tomorrow begins National School Lunch Week. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child's life, and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. We have selected fan favorites to highlight the week, as well as focusing on a "farm to table" day on Wednesday, featuring WV pork and fruits. And as always in Preston County Schools, all students eat for FREE.
Congratulations to the Bruceton Bulldog Cross Country teams. The teams competed at the Lightning Invitational at Broadford Park in Oakland, Maryland on Wednesday.
Taking the win in the boys race was Tyler Parks. Eli Parker placed 7th, Braden Armstrong placed 9th, Colton Everline 19th, Colt Spiker 21st, Emery Walls 23rd, Jacob Heubi 43rd, Enzo Richards 56th, and Wyatt Copen 66th.
On the girls side, Eileen Parks was the top Bulldog in 10th place, followed by Bailee Waybright in 22nd, Callie Thaler in 23rd, Brooke Smith in 28th, Colleen Eisentrout in 32nd, Kelsey Jenkins 37th, and London Casteel 52nd.
The Bulldogs will be back in action again on Tuesday, October 15th at the Doddridge Invitational.
Miss Neff's class finished up their lesson on bats by making paper plate ones for themselves in art class today.

When coming to pick up donuts, please don't park on the bus lot until after the high school buses leave at 4pm.
The donut truck arrived earlier than they expected and everything is sorted. Feel feee to come by and pick up your donut orders now in the cafeteria. Donuts can be picked up until 6pm this evening. Tonight is the only pickup night.
The donut truck is delayed and won't be here until 3:00. It will take us some time to unload and sort them. Please try to come to pickup later in the pickup window. We'll be here for pickup until 6:00.
Just a reminder that Krispy Kreme donut order pickup is today (Thursday) between 3:00 and 6:00pm in the cafeteria. Today is the only pickup day.

Middle School Boys Basketball will have flex practice tomorrow (Thursday) evening from 7:30 - 8:30.
Congratulations to our Bulldog mascot for the 2024-2025 school year: Darrin Uphold! Darrin was one of 5 candidates competing to wear the Bulldog costume. All candidates had to go through a panel interview with teachers and then a cheer-off in costume in front of the middle school. Our alternate Bulldogs for this year are Logan Jimmie and Kyle Osborne.
The Bruceton Bulldog Cross Country team competed in Terra Alta on Monday. The boys team was led by Eli Parker in 2nd place, followed by Braden Armstrong in 4th, Colton Everline in 6th, Emery Walls in 7th, Colt Spiker in 9th, Jacob Heubi in 19th, Enzo Richards in 21st, and Wyatt Copen in 25th.
The Girls team was led by Eileen Parks in 3rd place, Bailee Waybright in 6th, Callie Thaler in 12th, Colleen Eisentrout in 17th, Brooke Smith 18th, Kelsey Jenkins 20th, and London Casteel 25th.
Special Congratulations to Tyler Parks who placed 7th out of 275 runners at the Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday.

After some construction delays and installation headaches, our playground is shade is ready to go! There are several people and groups we need to thank for making it happen. First we need to thank Joe Alexander, Piccolomini Development, and Cord Hayes for volunteering to do the installation. Marcon Building Supply for donating the concrete, and Bruceton Academic Boosters for purchasing it through their fundraising. Our next step is to get some picnic tables from PHS' carpentry program to put underneath it. The kids are excited for this new addition to our playground!
