Attention 8th grade parents: All 8th grade students will be attending the Eighth Grade Orientation at Preston High School on Friday morning, May 12, 2023. The bus will leave the school at 8:00 am and will return at approximately 11:30 am on the same day. A permission slip was sent home with your student. Please sign and return this form to the school by May 4, 2023. Thank you!

Students riding Scott McCade's Bus 16 will be late dropping students off at home. The bus broke down during his run, so they had to the Aurora School to pick up the spare bus. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Empty Bowls scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. It has been rescheduled for May 19.
Preston County Schools will be dismissing two hours early today due to potential flooding concerns in multiple areas of the county. All after school activities are cancelled including grasshopper basketball. Staff is to remain in the buildings until confirmation that students have been delivered home safely.
Born Learning will be held March 31 at 6:00 at Aurora School. The program is for families with children prenatal to 5 years old. Please call Aurora School to register.
Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Wednesday March 15th. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other students & staff will report on a 2-hour delay. The principals’ meeting will proceed as scheduled at 8:30 AM.
The PTO and LSIC meetings scheduled for tonight have been cancelled.
Preston County Schools will be closed Tuesday, March 14th & today will be a “Brain Freeze” Day. Students do not report; however, staff reports on a 2-hour delay. Bus drivers should contact the bus garage for any requirements. Sub personnel is not to report unless they are specifically directed to do so. All schools will be open from 10 AM to 12 PM for students who need help & lunches will be served from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. The guided reading training at Kingwood will occur & participants should report by 9:30 AM. The status of after school activities will be announced later today.
