Today, six hundred sixty PCS students participated in Round 4 of the March Madness Food Challenge. In today's matchups, Pizza defeated Chicken Bacon Ranch sub in a landside while Chicken Tenders took down Taco Salad.
The tournament voting will resume on Monday, March 25, with Salisbury Steak taking on Chicken Drumstick and Breakfast for Lunch going against Cheeseburger.

The Levy Committee Meeting and Facebook Discussion Event at Aurora School scheduled for this evening is postponed until a later date due to a power outage at Aurora School.

Today, six hundred eighty-nine PCS students participated in Round 2 of the March Madness Food Challenge. Kingwood Elementary School led the way in voter participation. In today's matchups, Breakfast For Lunch defeated Meatball Sub and Cheeseburger defeated Spaghetti.
Tomorrow's lineup includes Pepperoni Roll taking on Stromboli and Cheesy Chicken Roasted Potato bowl going against Chicken Patty Sandwich.

Aurora Track Schedule


The Preston County Beekeepers Association each year awards a youth scholar with the needed supplies to get started in beekeeping. This includes the physical hive, a nuc of bees, bee suit, etc. The association also has a member who serves as the mentor for a year to work with the student to teach them how to care for bees.
The opportunity is open to youth in Preston County between the ages of 12 and 16. The recipient is selected from the application process and chosen by the association members.
The selection committee will meet in April. All applications are due to the Preston County Extension Office at 115 W Court Street, Kingwood, WV 26537, by April 15, 2024. Late applications will NOT be accepted.

Preston County Students grades 3 - 8 completed their first state summative assessment last week earning participation in the county wide Kahoot's Bowl. The following students placed either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the bowl. Congratulations to ALL of our students who worked hard!

Preston County Schools had 37 projects entered in the West Virginia Regional Social Studies Fair on March 7, 2024, and received: 18 first place, 9 second place, and 4 third place.

Today, our middle school science students were visited by West Virginia STEAM TAC. They learned how elastic potential energy and kinetic energy are related through hands-on experimentation. Thank you to West Viriginia STEAM TAC and Mrs. Cline for providing this opportunity for our students.







Children who eat breakfast have increased alertness and improved moods throughout the morning, making for a better learning experience in the classroom.


Book Bingo is free for all Aurora School Families. Come anytime between 5:30-7:00 and join a game or stay for the whole time. We have lots of books to choose from.


Research shows that children who participate in school breakfast exhibit better behavior in school. Encourage your child to participate daily in PCS free breakfast program.
