Preston County Schools will be closed Tuesday, March 14th & it’s a “Brain Freeze” day. Students do not report; however, teachers will be reporting on a 2-hour delay & be available to answer questions via phone, email, or Teams. In addition, students may come to county schools from 10 AM to 12 PM for help with assigned activities. Lunches at each school site will be available from 11:30-1 PM as well. Parents, please contact the school if you need a lunch. Resources on Brain Freeze can be found on the PCS website under the News section on the main page. Additional questions can be addressed by your local school. The status of after school activities will be announced later today.

Aurora Track and Field practice will start Monday February 27th 5:30-6:30 pm at Aurora School. There will be a short parent meeting at 5:30 upon drop off. Please contact Seegee Bachtel at 304-698-5569 with any questions or if you are unable to attend the parent meeting. All athletes must have a current physical on file prior to practicing. Girls A and B grasshopper tryouts will be Monday 2/20 at Aurora School from 3 to 4:15 pm. There will be a short parent meeting at 4:15 with announcement of team members.
Track season is here! Practices will start February 27th in order to get enough for the first meet scheduled for Thursday 3/30! Meets will run 3/30-5/1. If your athlete has not participated in a fall or winter sport and does not have a physical, please be sure to get ASAP as there will be a small window to get all practices in before the start of the season! 8th grade parents:
Yesterday your child scheduled for high school courses for their freshmen year with the high school counselor. Please see and review the pre-registration form that your child completed today. Once it is completed, both your child and you need to sign this form and return it to me by Tuesday, February 21st. There will be Softball Flex Practice at East Preston from 4:00 - 6:00 starting on Tuesday, February 15th for middle school girls interested in participating.
Aurora School will be participating in a food drive beginning Monday, February 13th. The following items are needed : instant or canned white potatoes, canned vegetables, egg noodles, macaroni & cheese, stuffing, gravy, canned fruit.
Congratulations to our boy's team for their win last night. They will play Thursday night at Central against West. The game starts at 5:45. Tonight, our girls will take on Bruceton at 7:15. The first game of the night will be South vs Central. Doors open at 4:45.
Menu Change: Thursday will be cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. Friday will be turkey gravy over biscuits.
Tomorrow, February 7 all 8th grade students will be travelling to PHS for a school tour. They will leave at 8:00 and return before lunch.
