West Virginia ranks in the top five spots for childhood obesity in the nation. Day-of-Play encourages children to engage in physical activity and live a healthy lifestyle, whether at school, playing with friends, or spending time outdoors. Day-of-Play wants to lower the rate of childhood obesity in West Virginia. It is a free event happening in Morgantown, West Virginia on March 8th, 2025 at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility. Preston County Schools will be closed for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22nd & it will be a “Brain Freeze” Day. Students do not report; however, maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, while all other staff report on a 2-hour delay. Day-to-day substitute personnel should not to report unless they are specifically directed to do so. All schools will be open from 10 to 12 for students who require assistance. Any assignments should be posted by 10 AM & students may come to school sites or contact teachers with questions from 10 AM to 12 PM. Lunches at each school site will be available from 11:30-1:00 PM.
