
It's time for a new Beanstack Reading Challenge Preston County! Grab a good book and Hop into Reading. Read, log your minutes, finished books and activities to complete this challenge. This challenge is open to all staff and students. Remember the school with the most minutes per student logged will be the champions. Congratulations to Fellowsville for winning the Preston County Snowball Fight Beanstack reading challenge! They got to enjoy a snowball fight in the gym and their PE class gets to keep the snowballs. Fellowsville also gets to keep the Beanstack Champion Trophy until another school wins a challenge.




Brain Freeze Protocols


Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow Thursday, April 4, 2024. Maintenance, mechanics, and custodians report on a regular schedule. Students and all other staff will report on a 2-hour delay.

Preston County Schools will be closed March 29th through April 2nd for spring break. The central office will reopen on Wednesday, April 3rd and students will return to school on Thursday, April 4th. Have a safe and relaxing spring break!

The Young Writers' Competition Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27th at the Preston High School Theater. The ceremony for elementary & middle school participants is set to begin at 6 PM, and the high school ceremony is set to proceed at 7 PM. Participants in the ceremony will need to enter the high school through the fine arts entrance on the side of the building or at the back of the Concourse due to ongoing construction at the front entryway. Any participant wanting to purchase and anthology book will need to make checks payable to the WV Reading Association. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

PHS Health & Wellness Family Night - March 28th, 4 - 6 pm. Please join use for an evening of activities provided by student government and National Honor Society. Activities will run from 4 - 6 pm. We will have activities for all ages. Tips for parents to support their student at PHS with Schoology and student health will be available. With construction of the front entry in full swing please use the entry doors by the cafeteria.


The Preston County Young Writers' Awards Ceremony will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Elementary will begin at 6 pm and middle/high school at 7 pm. Both ceremonies will be held in the Preston High School Theater.

Parent Teacher conference is tomorrow evening, March 25, from 4:00 until 6:00. Mr. Miller will be unavailable but will schedule meetings on a later date.

Community Public Service Announcement: Join the Preston County Senior Citizens Program for the First Annual March for Meals Walk-a-Thon & Kids Fun Run on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Preston High School Track from 10 am to 2 pm. The event will feature the Easter Bunny, Egg Hunt, Food, & More. Registration begins at 9 am or use the QR code on the announcement to pre-register. All proceeds benefit Preston County Senior Citizens, Inc. & Senior Nutrition Program.

-Some issues in the past with individuals on the PTA means that we must follow policy by the book to be sure that there are no issues.

-We will have a new secretary next year so we will be working together to not have the account in parent hands for PTA this can help prevent having a separate tax ID.

We have title one money to spend that we can spend on items that we may need for PTA next year if there is a proposal.
Boosters can help get more parents involved with an agreement if you have an athlete then you can donate or volunteer to help work the functions.
-Testing golden Horeshoe 3/28/24 k-8 i-ready 4/15/24 3-8 GSA 5/6,8,10/24 report cards 3/26 and will have them ready for parent on Monday night.
Snacks will be supplied during testing, looking to get rewards to students with that perform well on the assessments.
Incentives for GSA-pk-2 if they attend all the days for the test then they get an ice cream party
3-5 6-8 will be doing their own incentive.

Today, six hundred sixty PCS students participated in Round 4 of the March Madness Food Challenge. In today's matchups, Pizza defeated Chicken Bacon Ranch sub in a landside while Chicken Tenders took down Taco Salad.
The tournament voting will resume on Monday, March 25, with Salisbury Steak taking on Chicken Drumstick and Breakfast for Lunch going against Cheeseburger.

There will be no ASE on Monday, March 25 due to the scheduled Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Students in grades 3-8 will take the West Virginia General Summative Assessment the week of May 6-10. Please try not to schedule morning appointments and vacations during this testing week. Thank you!
