Home Depot Path to Pro Scholarship - The Path to Pro scholarship program is designed to help remove financial weight for students entering the skilled trades while preparing them for diverse available career paths. There are three application deadlines — June 30, September 30, and December 31 — with winners notified approximately six weeks after each deadline.
The Hagan Foundation Scholarship - DUE DECEMBER 1, 2021. The Purpose of the Hagan Scholarship is to provide each recipient with the opportunity to obtain a four-year college education and graduate debt free. The Free Workshops, Schwab Accounts, and Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically taught as a part of the school curriculum.

Coca-Cola Scholars Program - 150 - $20,000 awards. Due October 31, 2021. Must be a current senior who will graduate in spring of 2020; must be a US citizen; must be planning to pursue a post secondary degree. NOTE: you cannot be the child or grandchild of an employee, worker, or owner of Coca-Cola.
Magnum Opus Scholarship - ($1,000 Vivo Scholarship) $1000. Due October 31, 2021. This is a drawing for a scholarship. There is no essay to write and no application process., just enter the drawing. Winner announced November 1st.
InfoTracer offers a great service to consumers, but we also care about community involvement. We are offering eligible students the opportunity to win $1,000 in scholarship money for college for the 2021-2022 school year. Due October 31, 2021
Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship - $500. Due October 30, 2021. Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen, submit answers to the essay questions by the deadline, have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
November Deadlines:
WV Garden Club-Esther J Hinchman Scholarship 2023- $500. Due February 10, 2024. Make sure you apply for the Esther J. Hinchman Scholarship (this is the one open to high school seniors who are planning on attending college-in state or out). Applicants must have a 3.25 GPA or higher. This is for any student planning on studying horticulture or environmental studies in college.
Elks Most Valuable Student Competition - 500 - $50,000 awards. Due November 15, 2021; see site for specific list of requirements and awards.
Hispanic Heritage Youth Award - 180 - $3,500 awards. Due November 14, 2021. Must have a minimum UNWEIGHTED GPA of 3.0; Must be a current senior; must be of Hispanic heritage; if selected must attend the mandatory awards ceremony (travel at own expense).
Real World Design Challenge Scholarships - 7 awards - $50,000. See site for more information and requirements.
WV Alpha Delta Kappa Maryida Mosby Travel Scholarship- $1,000. Application needs to be turned into school counselor by November 15, 2021 for completed application and requested materials to be sent in by the Deadline of December 1st.
Griswold Home Care Scholarship - 2 awards - $1,000.00 .Due November 30, 20. The student must be pursuing a bachelor’s, associate’s, graduate, or professional degree at an accredited college or university.
SP High School Scholarship (Points Scholarship)- 10 - $10,000 awards. Due November 30, 2021. Simply register -- no essays to write or applications to fill out (see site for more details).
Driver Education Initiative Scholarship - 6 awards - $500. Due November 30, 2021. Student must submit an essay demonstrating knowledge on the topic of safe driving. See website for more detailed information.
Dr. Juan Andrade Jr. Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders - 20 awards - $1,000. Due November 30, 2021. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as full time undergraduate student in the U.S. or its territories, demonstrate a verifiable need for financial support, and have at least one parent of Hispanic Ancestry.
SP Scholarship - 10 awards - $10,000. Due November 30, 2021. This is a drawing for a scholarship. There is no essay to write and no application process., just enter the drawing.
December Deadlines:
Barbara Lotze Scholarships for Future Teachers - 10 awards - $2,000. Due December 1st, 2021. Must be pursuing or planning to pursue a a course of study leading toward a career in teaching Physics in the high schools. Applications can be submitted online. See site for more details.
Lamber-Goodnow Scholarships - 8 awards - $1,000. Due December 1, 2021. See site for more details.
Maryida Mosby Travel Scholarship-WV Alpha Delta Kappa- $1.000 award is awarded by WV Alpha Delta Chapter, an international honorary organization of women educators. Deadline to submit to school counselors is December, 14, 2023.
Final Fantasy Fan Scholarship - $1000. Due December 15, 2021. This scholarship is awarded on December 20th of each year. Students must submit a 5 paragraph essay or less that includes the following:
Relationship with Final Fantasy and how it has made you a better student and/or person
include any lessons learned in any specific games
impact lessons have had on your life.
Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars - Up to $10,000 per year - Due December 31, 2021. For those pursuing rewarding careers as West Virginia teachers in the fields of math, science, elementary education or special education.

Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation - This scholarship is for JUNIORS planning to attend college in Fall of 2022. Due January 20, 2021 by 5:00pm
MIT Think Scholars Program - up to $1000. Due January 1, 2022 - THINK project proposals are science, technology, and engineering ideas that span many fields, from green technologies and practical devices to software applications. As long as it can be completed in one semester with a $1,000 budget, almost anything is fair game! A good proposal has an insightful idea, clearly defined goals, and a well thought-out procedure for implementation.
GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship - $10,000 renewable each year for a total of $40,000. Due by 3:00 pm CENTRAL TIME on January 6th, 2022 OR until 25,000 applications have been submitted.
Eligibility:
*demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
*demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
*be citizens of the United States of America;
*be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
*plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
Bezos Scholars Program- Due January 7, 2022. Must be a Junior at the time they are applying to the program.
US JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship- Due January 19, 2024. These $1500.00 grants are given each year to incoming college freshman to help offset education-related expenses. The grants are awarded on the basis of scholarship, financial need, and other criteria.

WV PTA Scholarship Program- Deadline February 1, 2024. Five-$500.00 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors in 2024. Scholarships will be presented to all winners in April of 2024. Check out the link below. WV PTA Scholarship
Hotsinpeller Scholarship- $500.00 award for 8 semesters (valued at $4000.00) as long as the applicant is pursuing a degree and career in Law Enforcement. Due February 1, 2024. Additional details of scholarship can be found on the Hotsinpiller Scholarship website.
WVU FOUNDATION
Bucklew Scholarship-Due February 12, 2022
$10,000 per year for up to four undergraduate years or completion of a bachelor’s degree – whichever comes first.
Foundation Scholarship-Due February 12, 2022
Covers cost of attendance as determined by Student Financial Services for up to four undergraduate years or completion of a bachelor’s degree – whichever comes first, plus a one-time $4,500 stipend for study abroad or academic enhancement. Students receiving the Promise Scholarship will receive the Foundation Scholarship less the Promise Scholarship amount.
To be eligible to apply, a student must meet the following criteria:
· 3.8 cumulative GPA
· 31 ACT composite score or 1390 EBRW and math score on the RSAT
· Be admitted and have qualifying GPA/test scores on file by January 24
Students who meet the eligibility requirements will have the application mailed to their home address on file. We will send applications starting mid-November and continue on a rolling basis through mid-January. Students must complete and submit the application by February 12, 2022.
Students who meet the GPA requirement but not the test scores, can elect to retest through the December 4 SAT and December 11 ACT. As mentioned, however, scores must be received by January 24. We strongly recommend that students indicate they want their scores sent to WVU (SAT Code 5904 / ACT Code 4540) at the time of registration.
Claire M. Laplante Engineering Scholarship- Deadline is February 21, 2024. 1 award of $50,000.00 will be awarded to a WV resident completing high school and attending WVU's Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering (the "WVU College of Engineering"). Applications details are provided in link provided.
Little General Stores Scholarship Application- Deadline is Friday, February 29, 2024. The LG Scholarship Program is a one-time $1,000 scholarship that goes out to at least 20 high school seniors in West Virginia with plans to continue their education. Students who plan to attend a one, two, or four-year program are eligible to apply.
March Deadlines:
BBB Life Lessons Essay Contest- Due March 1, 2024. Scholarship awards range from $500-$2,500.00. Scholarships will be awarded to the top six essays. This essay contest challenges students to reflect on living a life of integrity and ethics. There is no minimum GPA required for this scholarship. Students must be attending career/technical, college, university or trade schools following their high school graduation.
Albert Yanni Scholarship - $2,000 - Due March 1. The scholarship provides a high-quality career and technical education (CTE) students an opportunity to pursue advanced education and/or training related to their career aspirations. Scholarships of $2,000.00 each will be awarded to students selected by a committee of WVDE personnel. Applicants must present proof that they have maintained their eligibility requirements before awards are presented. All eligibility requirements can be found in the attachment.
APPLICATION PROCESS (Electronic Forms):
The student applicant will complete the Yanni Scholarship – Student Form.
A school official will complete the Yanni Scholarship – School Official Form.
The student applicant will select an academic teacher to complete the Yanni Scholarship – Academic Teacher Recommendation Form.
The student applicant will select a technical instructor to complete the Yanni Scholarship – Career Technical Education (CTE) Instructor Recommendation Form.
The student applicant will select a peer who has been in one or more classes with the student applicant to complete the Yanni Scholarship – Peer Recommendation Form.

WEPCO Federal Credit Union Scholarship- Due March 1, 2024. $1.500 Scholarship awarded to ONE PHS Senior. Must be a graduate of PHS, enrolled in a college, university or trade school this fall and meet the criteria listed on the scholarship application.
West Virginia Engineering, Science and Technology Scholarship Program - Up to $3000 per year - due March 1st. For those pursuing careers in the fields of engineering, science and technology.
EEqual Scholarship Awards Program- Up to $8,000 is covered in this scholarship for students experiencing homelessness or housing instability (as defined under the McKinny-Vento Education for Homeless children and youth program (MV) students in extreme poverty; or students whose family is currently going through a transition to attain post-secondary education. AFT Robert G. Porter Scholarship - The $8,000 scholarship award is paid out over a four- to six-year period, depending on the length of time the recipient will use to obtain a degree. Customarily, the scholarship is paid out through four $2,000 annual payments to the recipient and/or the higher education institution attended by the recipient. Application window is from December 1st-March 31st.
Marshall University's College of Engineering and Computer Sciences received an NSF S-STEM grant to support WV College students, mainly female, to study STEM at Marshall with scholarship of $7500/year for four years. The scholarship program starts in the fall of 2021 and MU is looking to recruit students to the program (10 students in 2021 and another 10 students in 2022).

Loyalty Permanent Endowment Fund Scholarship- $1000. Due March 1st annually. For students entering WVU.
Life Lessons Scholarship - Opens February 1st - Deadline-March 1st. Grand Prize $20,000. See website for details.
Horatio Alger Scholarship - 106 - $25,000 awards will be given and more than 500-state scholarships at $10,000 each will be given. Due March 15, 2024. Must be a full-time high school JUNIOR to apply. Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0; demonstrate critical financial need (family gross income of $55,000 or less); exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree. (refer to site for complete details).
WV Association of Conservation Districts Scholarship - Nine $1000 awards. Due the 1st Monday in March of each year. Applicants must be majoring in an agriculture related field. Download and complete the application.

Colombo F Bandiera Scholarship - Due March 29, 2024. Applicants must be in the graduating class of 2023. Applicants must be of Italian heritage. Applicant must have attended Preston High School (seven other schools from North Central West Virginia also eligible). A one-page essay is required detailing the applicant's Italian heritage, their family traditions and the impact Italian culture has had on them. It is also to include the applicant's aspirations, goals and ambitions as well as detailing their community outreach.
Xi Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship- $500 - Due March 23. Must be a full-time student at Preston High who will be graduating. Must be planning to attend a career/vocational/technical school. Consideration will be given on the basis of community service, academic background, and curricular/extra-curricular activities.
Tucker Community Foundation -Due March 8, 2024. The foundation has over 40 scholarship funds that students may qualify to receive. In 2022, the foundation awarded over $93,000 in scholarships to deserving students in a eight county area in West Virginia. Check out the link provided for application and further details.
NOTE: There is a scholarship available from the foundation for a 2-year JROTC student and for a student from the Eglon and Aurora area.
WV Italian Heritage Festival Application- Deadline-March 15, 2024. Scholarships range from $250.00-$1,000.00. Applicant must be of Italian descent. Applicant must pay $10.00 registration fee (non-refundable). Forms must be postmarked by March 15, 2024. All scholarships will be made payable to the learning institution. Scholarship recipient(s) are invited to ride in the WVIHF Grand Feature Parade Saturday, August 31, 2024. They will also be honored on the Main Stage immediately following the parade. Notification and confirmation regarding participation is required a minimum of ten days prior to events.
Leora and Mildred Larue Education Scholarship- Due March 24th. Applicants must be PHS graduates and accepted into a college or junior college. Applicants must be education majors.
Mary Agnes Borgman Scholarship- Due March 24th. Applicants must be an Elementary Education major.
Mary Virginia Fairfax Memorial Scholarship- Due March 24th. Applicants must be a business major.
Reidler-Dahlberg Scholarship- Due March 24th. Applicants must be residents from the Tunnelton area. Applicant plans to attend WVU.
Ralph D. Miller Farm Annual Memorial Gift- $1,000.00. Deadline-March 31. This memorial supports the educational endeavors of students pursuing an education and a career in the Environmental Sciences or Agricultural field. This is open for graduating high school seniors to assist with their education and includes those pursuing certifications in agriculture areas such as farming, forestry, etc... One gift of $1,000.00 will be given in Preston County, WV and one gift of $1,000.00 will be given in Cateret County, NC.
Mon Health Medical Center Foundation Health Career Scholarship - Due March 29, 2024. $1,000 per school term ($500.00 per semester) for a maximum of 4 years ($4,000). Must be from one of the counties listed in the scholarship; must be enrolled in a health career program-acceptable programs listed in application; must have a minimum 3.0 GPA; must have a score of 21 or more on ACT or 1060 or more on SAT; must have a a financial need to meet educational expenses. Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program- Deadline April 1, 2024. Will award up to $5,000.00 to as many as 150 recipients. *Note, this is not for students pursuing a bachelor's degree. See info at end.
Applications will open Monday, January 9, 2024 at 6:00AM Central Time (7am EST) and close on April 1, 2024 at 3:00PM Central Time (4pm EST).
Please note, Lockheed Martin maintains relationships with priority institutions near our facilities. Students attending those institutions will receive preference in review of their applications. Those institutions include: Pierpont Community and Technical College (WV)
Applicants will be notified in mid-May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Lockheed Martin. Payments are made in August.
As part of your application, one online recommendation must be completed on your behalf no later than April 10, 2023, 3:00 pm Central Time (4pm EST).

Vocational Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
Applicants to the Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program must meet all the following eligibility requirements. Applicants must:
Be a U.S. citizen.
Be a high school senior OR high school graduate (or GED equivalent).
Have not earned a bachelor’s degree prior to the 2023-2024 academic year.
Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll full-time or part-time (minimum 6 credit hours) at one of the following types of accredited institutions: vocational-technical school, trade school, two-year community college, or state college.
Be pursuing an associate’s degree, credit-bearing certificate, or an industry-recognized credential, in one of the fields of study below, with an anticipated completion date no earlier than December 2023 and no later than June 2026.
Note: If student’s Specific Major falls under one of the listed Fields of Study, but the student’s Specific Major is not listed, student is still eligible to apply.

WV Airport Managers Association Scholarship-Deadline-March 31st. Providing up to $5,000.00 on a yearly basis after the consideration of other scholarships to selected recipients in their pursuit of a degree or industry-recognized credentials from an accredited institution in the aviation or related industry.

High Technology Scholarship- $500 - Due April 1. For students who will be attending a WV College or University and will be pursuing a technology related field.
Helen Holt Mollohan Scholarship- $1000 - Due April 1. Must be a female student who will attend Glenville State College.
Carl R. Morris Scholarship- $1.000-Due April 1. For students enrolling at Glenville State College and WVU.
Mary Olive Eddy Jones Art Scholarship- $1.000-Due April 1. Offered to high school seniors who are going into an art-related field or to Sophomores/Juniors in attendance at a college or university in WV who is currently majoring in an art-related field.
General Federation of Women's Clubs WV-Deadline April 1, 2024. Scholarships up to $1,000. Applicant must be a full-time student attending an accredited college, professional, vocational or technical program in the state of West Virginia. NOTE: Applicants can still use the 2021-2022 application. Applications need to be mailed to Joan Tacy, 9119 Seneca Trail, Mill Creek, WV 26280.
Mountain Top Hunting Club-Deadline April 1st. (4) $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors that meet the qualifications set forth by the Board of Directors. Preference will be given to the students who are going to attend college or technical school with an emphasis on, but not limited to, Environmental Science, Land Management, Forestry, Wildlife Conservation, Law Enforcement, etc. Applicants must be current members of Mountain Top Hunting Club. Scholarships will be renewable each year, if a student meets certain academic requirements established by the Board of Directors and the student reapplies.
Pierpont EDGE Scholarship- Due April 1, 2022. Half of the $1,000 scholarship will be applied to the student's account each semester: pro-rated award if studying part-time. Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and a minimum 3.0 in their EDGE/Career Tech Pathway. Applicants must enroll at Pierpont the year following high school graduation or completion of CTE program (can only be received once). See application for additional details.
Descendants of William Henry Wolfe @ Barbara Ellen Knotts Scholarships- Due April 15th in PHS Guidance office. This scholarship is for Preston High School graduates from the Fellowsville School attendance area enrolling in a career, technical, or college after graduation.
Dr. Mike Teets Memorial Scholarship- Due April 15. A one-page essay detailing the students plans for higher education, course of study, hopes and aspirations for the future is required. Two letters of recommendation required.
John and Mildred Peluso Italian American Scholarship - The WVU John and Mildred Peluso Italian American Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship available to West Virginia University students (Morgantown campus), with Italian heritage, who demonstrate scholastic merit and pride in their heritage. This scholarship was established by Dr. Carolyn Peluso Atkins in honor of her parents, John and Mildred Peluso. Please visit the Peluso Family Bios page to learn more about John and Mildred. Kyle H. Metheny Memorial Scholarship- Due April 1. $1,000. Applicant must be a PHS graduate. The scholarship is renewable for four years provided the applicant maintains a 3.0 GPA in undergraduate programs, a 3.0 GPA or maintain good standing in professional programs, and show proof of enrollment in a Baccalaureate, Masters, or Doctoral program at an accredited institution.
Bruceton High School Alumni Scholarship- Due April 1. Applicants must be a student from the Bruceton school attendance area and be planning to enter a institution of higher learning. Rowlesburg School PTO Scholarship- Due April 1. For students in the Rowlesburg attendance area. Must be a graduate of PHS. Applicant must be enrolling in a career, technical or vocational school following graduation.
Valley District Lions Scholarship -Due April 1. Applicant must be a graduate of PHS, a resident of Valley district with plans of attending a 2-4 year college.
North Preston Farmers Club Scholarship- $500 - Due April 26th. Student must be currently enrolled as a senior at Preston High School. Applicants must submit a typed essay (minimum of 300 words) entitled "What does agriculture mean to me"
American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE)- Due April 30. Up to five $2,000 AADE scholarships are being offered for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Appalachian Chapter of the AADE is utilizing these scholarships to encourage college bound high school seniors to consider a career in the oil and gas industry. This scholarship is NOT being limited to Petroleum Engineering majors; or for that matter, engineering majors. These scholarships will be awarded on:

Applicants must be high school graduate with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Applicants must have scored at least a composite 27 on the ACT or scored at least a minimum 600 in Math and 600 in Critical Reading on the SAT. Applicants must be an American citizen enrolled in an accredited college in Pennsylvania, Ohio or West Virginia. Applicants must be citizen of the United States. The Arts Council of Preston County Post-Secondary Scholarship- $250 per year. Due April 15 of each year. See application for details.

The Scott and Dean Sisler Memorial Scholarship -Due April 15. Must be from Aurora, WV. Must submit to guidance office.
Aurora PTO Scholarship- Applicants my attend a college, university, or technical school and have a financial need. Applications must be turned into the PHS guidance office by April 15th.
James "Jim" Bailey Scholarship- Due April 15, 2023. $600.00 one-time award. Applicants must be enrolled in a 1 or 2 year vocational or technical school upon graduation. Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater with good school attendance. Applicants must have excellent character and provide two letters of recommendation. Financial need must be shown.
Kingwood Women's Civic Club Student Scholarship- Due April 15. Return to Mrs. Matheny, school counselor. Applicants must be PHS graduate and must be planning post-high school training (college, university, career, technical, vocational). Students will be considered on the basis of community service, strong academic background, curricular/extra curricular activities, leadership roles, and financial need.
Kingwood-Central Preston High School Alumni Scholarship- Due April 15. All qualified applicants must be children of Kingwood/Central Preston High School Alumni. An academic resume must be included with all applications to be considered. Three reference letters must accompany the application (see application for specific details). A current academic transcript must be included with all applications.
Patricia R. Jenkins Sanders Memorial Scholarship- Due April 15. This scholarship is given to East Preston attendance area students who are in need of financial assistance.
Bill John Memorial Scholarship- 2- $500. For Preston High School Seniors enrolling in college or technical school upon graduation. Due April 15
Fellowsville Alumni & Ruritan Scholarships- $600.00. For PHS Seniors from the Fellowsville attendance area enrolling in a career, technical or college after graduation. Due April 15th.
Vietnam Veterans of America Scholarship- The VVA would like to award two PCS students with a $1,000 scholarship. Due April 15, 2023. Applicants must be enrolling in college or technical school.
Newburg High School Alumni Scholarship - Due April 15. Must live in the Newburg attendance area. Applicant must be a PHS graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
Valley Alumni Association Scholarship Application- $500.00. Due April 15. Applicants must be a PHS graduate. Applicants must have a parent, grandparent or family member that graduated from Masontown, Valley or West Preston. Applicants cannot be eligible for PROMISE scholarships or larger scholarships.
Preston County School Service Personnel- Due April 15. must be attending a 2 - 4 year college, preference given to students whose parents/grandparents are members of the Preston County School Service Personnel Association, but all applicants will be considered.
Preston County Association of Retired School Employees Student Scholarship- $500.00. Due April 15th. Applicants must be a PHS graduates who are planning post high school training- college, university, career/vocational/technical school. Students will be considered on the basis of community service, strong academics background, curricular and extracurricular activities and financial need
Student View Scholarship- 1 - $10,000 award, 2 - $1000 awards, 5 - $500 awards. Due April 23, 2024. For those students who plan to attend a 4-year college, community/junior college or career school. It is quick and easy to apply: NO minimum SAT/ACT score or grade point average, NO Essay required, NO lengthy application forms, NO application fees. Go to the link and complete a 15 -20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed application. The scholarship winner will be announced in May, 2024.
Kingwood Fraternal Order of Eagles- Due April 15. Applicants must be attending a college, university, or technical school and have a financial need.
Robert F. Miller Memorial Scholarship (Preston County Credit Union)- Due April 23 in PHS guidance office - Sponsored by Preston County Employees Federal Credit Union. Eligible students MUST attend a 4-year college, have a financial need, and provide documentation of community service.
George W. Longenecker Scholarship- Due April 22. For graduating seniors who apply for and enroll in the Landscape Architecture or Horticulture programs at West Virginia University's Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design. The program offers recipients full tuition reimbursement for 4 semesters while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. See application link for further details.
Robin Zinn Memorial Scholarship -Due April 22. Open to all students. Applicant must be a PHS graduate who plans on attending a 2-4 year college. Applicant must be an animal lover.
Preston County Livestock Association Scholarship-Deadline-April 24th. For current active junior member of the PCLA who meets all criteria and rules for the 2023-2024 membership year. Must be a current 4H and/or FFA member in good standing. See application link for specific details.
East Preston Scholarship- Due April 30. Must be from the East Preston High School attendance area.
Wesley United Methodist Church Scholarships:
Frank Brown Everhart Memorial Scholarship- Due April 15th. Restricted to graduates who were active in Wesley United Methodist Church of Kingwood.
Dale and Dorthy Walls Scholarship Fund- 2 Scholarships valued at $750.00 each. Deadline-April 15th. Open to all graduates of Preston High School but those who were active in Wesley United Methodist Church in Kingwood will be given preferential consideration for the scholarship.
East Preston Parish WVWC Scholarship-Deadline April 25th. This scholarship will be awarded to any student graduating from (or has graduated from) Preston High School and is or will be attending West Virginia Wesleyan College (not just Freshmen).
PCEA Book Scholarship - for seniors with at least one parent that is a PCEA (Preston County Education Association) member. $250.00 for books. Due April 27.
Preston Memorial Hospital Foundation Health Careers Scholarship- Due April 30. A one-time $1,000 award will be issued to 2 exemplary graduating Preston High School Seniors. Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a healthcare related field at an accredited school. Applicant must have a 3.0 high school GPA. See specific requirements in application.
Mikey Hart Scholarship - Due April 30. Scholarship amounts may vary. Applicants must be WV residents. Applicants must be seeking education in Fire Fighting and/or Paramedic or be a child of a Fire Fighter. An applicant that is a Fire Fighter's child may choose their field of study. Applicant must be enrolling in a credible college or school. Additional details of scholarship are included in the application.
Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Student with lower GPA may submit a letter of consideration with their application.
C. Paul Estep Memorial Scholarship- $1,000. Due by April 23rd. Applicant must be a full-time student who is a graduating senior from PHS. Applicant must be pursuing a degree in law, social sciences, or English. Consideration will be given on the basis of community service, academic background, and curricular/extra-curricular activities.

Preston County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship-Due April 30. Must be a PHS Graduating Senior, must have a 3.0 GPA, and must have applied and been accepted to a college or trade school.
May Deadlines:
Susi Miller Memorial Scholarship - Due May 1. $500.00 scholarship. Applicants must be a Preston county resident who graduated from PHS. Applicants must be attending a 2 or 4 year college. An essay must be submitted along with a record of the applicants community service and church attendance. Application must also have a letter of recommendation.
Ron Smith Memorial Scholarship- Deadline May 1, 2024. Applicants must be graduating in May of 2024, must be involved with a county fire department, be attending a 2-4 year technical program or college in fall of 2024. Applicants must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and submit a reference letter from an officer in their fire department.
Valley District PTA- $250.00 scholarship. Due May 3rd. Students need to be from Valley attendance area. Students will be considered on the basis of academics, activities, and financial need. Applicants may attend a college, university or a career/vocational/technical school.
North Preston Farmers Club Scholarship- Due May 8, 2023. 1-$500.00 award is being offered to a deserving student in the Preston County area. Applicants must be currently enrolled as a senior at PHS, be available for a minimum of 1 local parade displaying a sign that recognizes the North Preston Farmers Club as the donor of the scholarship, and submit a typed essay with a minimum of 300 words entitled, "What would I do to secure the future of farmers in their industry." Applicants must also be available for presentation of scholarship on the evening of May 12th at the North Preston Farmers Club.
Kingwood Rotary Club Scholarship- Due May 5, 2024. (3) $1,000 Scholarships to be awarded. Funds are paid 50% for the first semester. Remaining funds are paid for second semester after successful completion of the first semester. Applicants must be a senior or graduate of Preston High School and enrolled in a college or junior college degree program. Considerations for the award include: community service participation, academic achievement and student citizenship.

WVU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy received an NSF S-STEM grant to support WV students to study physics with a computational area of emphasis at WVU with a scholarship of up to $10,000 a year for up to 4 years. The scholarship may be awarded to high school seniors applying to WVU and to current physics students at WVU. The goal of the program is to increase the number of West Virginians pursuing high tech careers in physics and computer science. Please see the link below for more information.

West Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association- Due June 1. Applicants must be graduating WV High School Senior. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 or better. Applicant must have performed a minimum of 250 hours of hospitality and travel industry related work experience. Mountaineer Boys State - The American Legion Mountaineer Boys State (ALMBS) has long beenrecognized as one of the most respected educational programs of government and leadership instruction for high school students. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced our program to cancel the 2020 and 2021 sessions. ALMBS would like to honor those potential participants who would have attended the program, but were unable to do so, through the issuance of nine (9) $500 scholarships. Due July 1
