CPMS Memo -
We have noticed an increase in energy drinks and canned drinks at CPMS. As mentioned in our student handbook, students are NOT permitted to bring energy drinks/canned drinks (soda, tea, etc.) Moving forward staff will confiscate any energy or canned drinks brought to school.
Bus Announcements: Kingwood Area and West- Greg Ridenour Bus 78-17 will be running 15 minutes late. Again, Bus 78-17, Greg Ridenour will be running 15 minutes late.
February Breakfast and Lunch Menus
April 22nd, originally part of Spring Break, is now an instructional day as we have to make up a snow day. Students and staff will be in schools that day. Also, due to missing so many days, February 7th is no longer a 2 hour early dismissal. It will be a full day. Any additional days will be made up after May 30th.
Preston County Schools is currently doing an overhaul of its phone system. With the new system has come changes in employee extensions. Listed below are the new county office extensions. Schools will begin updating as their new systems are installed. If you reach an error on an old extension at a school, just place a "3" in front of the old number.

West Virginia ranks in the top five spots for childhood obesity in the nation. Day-of-Play encourages children to engage in physical activity and live a healthy lifestyle, whether at school, playing with friends, or spending time outdoors. Day-of-Play wants to lower the rate of childhood obesity in West Virginia. It is a free event happening in Morgantown, West Virginia on March 8th, 2025 at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility. The following are bus changes for tomorrow the 24th. In Kingwood, Bus 40-22 Tony Goff will not run. 40-22 will not run. And in Bruceton, all the following will be using alternate stops: Bus 22-21 Gerri Shaffer, 11-20 Bill Knotts, and 46 Gary Matthews.

Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other students & staff will report on a 2-hour delay.

Bruceton and PHS - Bus 46, Gary Matthews, 22-21 Gerri Shaffer, 75-16 Shelly Wolfe, & 11-20 Bill Knotts will use alternate stop locations. For South and PHS, 13-20 Tim Cline will use alternate stops, and in Kingwood, 40-22 Tony Goff will be using alternate for Grape Thickett.
All after school and extracurricular activities are permitted today, including practices and games. 1st place science fair winners from East, South, Aurora and Bruceton will practice at KES from 3:30-6. Please bring all required forms. If you can't attend, please notify Mrs. Zigray.

Students do not report; however, maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, while all other staff report on a 2-hour delay. Day-to-day substitute personnel should not to report unless they are specifically directed to do so. All schools will be open from 10 to 12 for students who require assistance. Just a reminder that this evening, Tuesday the 21st at 5:30 PM at the BOE Boardroom, there is a work session with our state legislative representatives to discuss current educational issues. All members of the public are invited to attend and submit questions. We hope to see our personnel and public in attendance.
